God-Fidence: Embracing the Journey of Doing All the Things... Through Christ

22m · Published 10 Aug 08:00

What do you do when you’re running out of strength to do all the things you have ahead of you?

If you’ve been following my journey, you’ll know that this year I’ve pushed myself to take on quite a lot. There came a point when I started to feel a little scared of all things I’d committed to. Was it too much? Would I be able to do it all?

The answer is honestly no, I can’t do it all alone, and I don’t think any of us can. This episode is a reminder that we don’t have to do it alone because God is there to strengthen us, and we can do anything through Him.

In this episode, I’m talking about how this year I’ve committed to offering my gifts for use in God’s hands, I’m stepping back to recognize His plan for me, and I’m choosing to rely on Godfidence when confidence alone isn’t enough.

Topics covered in this episode include:

  • Giving God a chance to execute His plans for you
  • Putting your skills and time to the best use
  • Doing all things through Christ
  • The definition of Godfidence

If you could use a little Godfidence in your life, this episode is for you.

1h 20m · Published 27 Jul 08:00
Imagine waking up with absolutely no memories.

That was the reality for my sister, Bethany Marshall Holden, when she was 17 years old. Now, Bethany is here on the ENSPIRES podcast to share her story of Re|N|vention with all of us. I’ve been telling this story for years, but I’m excited to hear the whole thing from Bethany’s perspective and to have you here with us too.

This is a story about losing and rebuilding identity. You’ll hear about family and friendship, career choices, human connection, motherhood, and the many hurdles that Bethany has overcome throughout her life.

Bethany graduated from UNC Greensboro in 2009 with a BA in communications and a minor in marketing, she was a media director for two Harley Davidson dealerships, the director of the High Country chapter of First In Families of North Carolina, the marketing director for Ripley Entertainment, and now she works full-time as an account executive for Coastal Outdoor Advertising.

Topics covered in this episode include:

  • What caused Bethany to lose all her memory at 17
  • What it was like to wake up with no memories
  • Moving through the pain and confusion after a life-altering event
  • The power of holding a safe space for people
  • Rebuilding identity
I’m sure you have a lot of questions and it’s a pretty fascinating story, so grab a snack and settle in. You won’t be able to walk away from this episode.

Do Boundaries Really Make It Better?

30m · Published 14 Jul 08:00

Are you burnt out from sacrificing so much of your time and yourself to your business?

What I am learning about being able to pursue my purpose, shift my career to my calling, and stop the spiral that success can bring is that it all boils down to one thing: boundaries.

You need boundaries in place and you need to stick to them. I’m not perfect at this, but I’ve learned the hard way that it needs to be a priority. In this episode of the ENSPIRES podcast, I’m sharing my experience implementing boundaries and which boundaries have changed the game for me. I’m also sharing the hardest thing about boundaries because yes, it has been hard.

Topics covered in this episode include:

Why a letter of engagement is a great way to establish boundaries
How to create a time budget and stick to it
Three things to remind yourself to say no to
How to stay true to your boundaries when they are tested

This is all about honoring what is most important to you. Without boundaries, work takes over and you don’t have time to think about your priorities. I’m pretty sure that’s not the life you dreamed of for yourself, so let’s make a change. Tune in!

Why Should I Pursue a Calling When I Already Have a Career?

14m · Published 30 Jun 08:00

Welcome back to the ENSPIRES podcast!

A lot has changed around here since my last episode in 2021 and things are better than ever, but there’s one question that’s been weighing on me as I’ve been getting back into the swing of things: why should I pursue a calling when I already have a career? That’s what we’re exploring in this episode.

I want this episode of the podcast to be a reminder that it’s okay to move on when your lifestyle or mentality is no longer working for you. You deserve to wake up with hope and excitement, not dread. If your career is bringing you more dread than hope, it might be time for you to listen to your calling.

“Your career is what you’re paid for. Your calling is what you’re made for.” - Steve Harvey

Topics covered in this episode include:

  • The difference between a career and a calling
  • Not allowing your career to hold you back from who you’re meant to be
  • How to break up with toxic mentalities

Don’t sacrifice your calling for your career when you can have both. Tune in to find out how.
