Accident (Hong Kong)

0s · Published 28 Feb 10:19
My next asian film comes from Hong Kong which centers on a hit man with some unique abilities, This assassin has a crew that creates accidents for their victims so that people would not be able to track any particular person. The catch to this story is what happens when the creator becomes the victim? This is where this story goes. We watch and see if he is right or is this another creation that backfires in his own mind.

Roma (Netflix)

If you followed my reviews, you know I love the work of Alfonso Cuaron. So this B&W period piece made in Mexico was released with critical acclaim. I wanted to take my time and watch it when I really had the mental time. What a very emotional and moving piece he has created for this Oscar nominated film about a domestic worker going through life in the 70's surrounded by class divisions as well as political uprising in Mexico.

Kingdom (Netflix) Season 1.

Today I sit down and watch this extraordinary horror / drama TV series made for Netflix about waring Kingdoms as well as treachery within the kingdom to obtain power. This six episode series is intense and well worth seeing. By the way did I say this had a bunch of zombies it as well?

The Favourite

Glass - motion picture 2019

We get to see the final part of the trilogy superhero series from M. Night Shyamalan. Not hailed very highly by the critics, but if you saw the previous “Split” and “Unbreakable”. You Know where this was headed. We give our opinions about this new release by M. Night.

Vice (motion picture) 2018

So this one was another one of those movies that I hoped I would learn from as well as observe how so many government politicians welded power. Sitting through this I almost forgot about the corruption of the Bush administration as well as how our government was infiltrated by power hungry bureaucrats. Pretty amazing satire of true events of Dick Cheneys life.

Governor George W Bush of Texas picks Dick Cheney, the CEO of Halliburton Co, to be his Republican running mate in the 2000 presidential election. No stranger to politics, Cheney's impressive résumé includes stints as White House chief of staff, House Minority Whip and defence secretary. When Bush wins by a narrow margin, Cheney begins to use his newfound power to help reshape the country and the world

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse

0s · Published 23 Jan 10:41
So today we went to see the smash hit “Into the Spider-verse” with the kids. I thought it looked cool because I never got a chance to follow Miles Morales when he was released in comic book form. So when they said they would do a spiderman movie with Donald Glover. I was like Hooray its the Black/Hispanic spiderman. Well, that didn’t happen and then we find out its the MAU (Marvel Animated Universe) with multiple spider people (if you call a pig people?) Very different concept in which I never quite followed but actually knew a lot about.

Aquaman (DC Universe)

0s · Published 16 Jan 10:26
I'm trying my best to be very fair and objective when i watch Marvel movies and DC movies. But after seeing the weak Justice League production, I wasn't very inspired to see the new release of a DC character on their own. Successful Wonder woman, Legacy Batman movies and Lackluster Superman reimagined movies. But we gave the new Jason Mamoa a chance to shine on his own as Aquaman.

Mary Poppins Returns/Mary Poppins (1964)

0s · Published 09 Jan 10:45
Alicia and I wanted to see this movie because we remember from our childhood watching Mary Poppins over and over. Black children watching a British nanny take care of the children of an affluent family was a fantasy but enjoyable. Even though Dick Van Dyke did semi put on black face (JS) The musical never left our memory so we anted to see the new version this movie. Honestly not expecting much but expecting not to be disappointed.
