#16 - How Being a Teen Mom Makes You Bulletproof

1h 12m · Published 18 Nov 11:00

"If I can go to school everyday, and my big, pregnant ass can walk to Checkers at night to work, then waddle back home...you can sure as shit get your act together."

Sydney Escalona refused to be another statistic. Growing up in a rough home, attending a very rough school, and getting pregnant at 15, are things most of us don't associate with our early high school careers. But rather than drop out, throw her principles away, and give up on life and love, Sydney became Wonder Woman.

Along with her incredible story, we discuss: How your childhood environment affects who you are as a person; the art of raising children whilst also raising yourself; disciplining your kids; the vitality of having a solid partner; and how your passion and devotion to another human being can bring positive change which lasts for generations.

#13 - Mark Milecki: How to Lead a Restaurant

1h 12m · Published 28 Oct 10:00

Mark Milecki is a prime example of working one's way up the ranks: from bus boy to top-level General Manager in extraordinary fashion at The Cheesecake Factory. Along his journey, he was awarded Expeditor of the Year, and has played a vital role in each of his restaurants' successes.

On a personal note, he was my boss for about a year. And I learned more about leadership in that year of my life than the other 24 combined. He taught me about taking care of those who take care of you, sacrificing short-term comfort for long-term prosperity, and how to be both a general and a soldier.
