Modern Day Profits: Rising from Soul

I also had the honor of being able to go Downtown, Grand Rapids to talk to several people who were protesting in solidarity for George Floyd that agreed to do an interview with me. A special thanks to all of you. Even though all recordings didn’t make it on this due to technical difficulties your vulnerability in speaking from your heart is appreciated and honored.  

This was the crowd that was there before the group that showed up around 9:00pm starting becoming destructive and violent.  My heart aches that this protest started falling apart and with it the message of Unity that had been carried so strongly within the crowd earlier.  

I hope we all can take a pause and lean in on our empathy and compassion to find a better message we can carry forward.  We share many faces, voices and perspectives but they come from the heart and that has to be the place we start from.  

I was able to interview with some amazing people that came to show in the face of destruction to help bring a better message forward.  

To all my hand over the heart people, you know who you are.

Rebecca Merritt, is a mission-minded musician from Alabama, who is currently attending the University of Mobile, majoring in piano performance.  Though her passion for music, she is now using it to find her voice in speaking up for people who are considered disabled.  Through her own unique experience she has learned that disabled does not mean unable and is using that message to serve others like her with similar experiences.  
It has become her mission to spread awareness on the advantages and unique challenges that come with living with disabilities and show others how to follow their dreams and lead a fulfilling life through music! Armed with Hope, Courage and Inspiration, Rebecca shows us that your life is truly not what happens to you, but what you make of what happens to you.  

Join me as she expresses how she has been able to turn Disabled into Capable in her own life with the hope that it will inspire you and your own unique expression to shine!
