We revisit our favourite decade in movies to discuss the fantasy comedy (?) Dragonheart! We play Dragonheart Sequel or Mills & Boon novel?! We try and figure out where and when this is actually meant to be, discuss the the varying accents of Dennis Quaid and David Thewlis and ask the question - did Sean Connery have a bratwurst in his mouth?

The Arnie film we didn't know existed and couldn't get enough of! This week we're discussing the fantasy/horror/sci-fi/action/terrible 1999 movie END OF DAYS! a.k.a Jingle All The Way 2: Hells Bells! We talk about Arnie's blended-pizza shake, Miriam Margolyes' superhuman strength, The Devil accidentally quoting Spice Girls and all our usual nonsense!

Lewis and Tom Prime reunite on Zoom to try and discuss John Carpenter's classic 1981 action film Escape From New York - covering everything from John Carpenter's 80's synth score to Kurt Russell's perfectly conditioned hair. We also give our thoughts on THE FLASH and look ahead to this summer's battle of the blockbusters between BARBIE and OPPENHEIMER!

For our 60th episode we discuss the John Landis horror classic! We question the geographical nonsense of sending someone injured on (clearly) the Yorkshire Moors all the way to London, the fantastic Rick Baker practical effects, David's very overly-trusting nurse, an incongruous Frank Oz cameo, inappropriately titled pubs, the absolute carnage of Piccadilly Circus and the surprising cost of day-time adult movies in the 80's!

It might be a New Year, but we're just as awful at analysing movies as ever. This week we visit the movie that kicked off the careers of Spielberg, John Williams, animatronic out of work sharks and the summer blockbuster itself! 

POIE is back! Just in time to ruin Christmas. This week, we discuss the all-time classic E.T.! We discuss the iconic practical effects, the heart warming story of childhood, the vaguely neglectful mother and confusing home dynamic, some curious 80's insults plus our all usual nonsense! We revisit the Cornetto Trilogy as we all get together for a rare in-person recording, get slightly inebriated and discuss the 2007 action-comedy HOT FUZZ! While we try and avoid just reciting the endlessly quotable film, we do break down the fantastic directing and editing we all come to love from an Edgar Wright film. We discuss the juggernaut of a great British cast, how it compares to its' predecessor Shaun of the Dead, we look all the big action scenes and set-pieces, lots of foreshadowing and all our usual nonsense! Warning : this is a really, really stupid episode. Enjoy! 

We go through the big hole space door this week to discuss the Roland Emmerich sci-fi sandy spectacular STARGATE! We talk Kurt Russell's impeccably flat buzz-cut, James Spader's effortless charisma, the unapologetic nerdy-ness of the entire film, some questionable companions for Ra, ask whether the film was slightly ahead of it's and of course we all wonder where Arnold Schwarzenneger could have fit into this film..

To honour the sequel nobody asked for it's the podcast nobody wants! Yes, this week we're discussing the 1986, sweaty-volleyball spectacular TOP GUN! We wonder how many communal showers are actually in the flight school, if 'Take My Breath Away' is actually just the elevator music, question Viper's brutal heartless response to (spoilers!) Goose's death, the not-so tighty-whitey's and Maverick and Goose constantly making a scene in every bar they visit. We also stray down tangent alley and imagine if Kathy Bates sounded Italian. Yep, we're back! 

There's no escaping it. This episode goes off the rails quickly (no pun intended...). Tom announces his Cattlepunk album. Lewis spends far too long talking about juicy pears. None of us can quite fathom what compelled Kenneth Branagh to take the role of Dr Loveless. And Tom Prime wonders if the final act should have been a 70ft sake instead. Yes, that's about as deep as our analysis goes for Wild Wild West! We sure do love the 90s.
