This week, we will be critically engaging with the use of new technologies in healthcare. In particular, we will dive into how commercialization, central surveillance and control of narratives affect the general public on accessing new technologies, while identifying the barriers that minority groups face during the process.

This week we will discuss the effects of deep fakes, fake news and propaganda in relation to the recent presidential election, the laws surrounding them, and new technologies supporting them.

Curriculum, Culture and Technology is an exploration of the theoretical and practical issues of curriculum and program design in relation to culture and technology. The overarching purpose of the program is to prepare M.Ed. students with the skills, knowledges, and critical dispositions to examine the relationships between curriculum, information culture, and E-learning, and to investigate the impact of cyber curriculum on cultural identities of teachers and learners. During our podcast, we actively question curriculum and look for evidence that can empower us to make thoughtful choices about cultural and ethical issues involving technologies.  Using a combination of critical texts, select media, and various videos (including episodes in Black Mirror), this podcast explores culture and technology in terms of social power, human agency, consciousness, identity, public policy, and knowledge.
