The internet is obsessed with cats, and we are no exception to that, but this week we pay tribute to man's best friend. Dogs have been with us - historically and personally - for a very long time, and we take some time to honor that bond. We wax on about our own dogs, once again dispel the myth that any dog is naturally aggressive or dangerous, lay down some fun canine trivia, and generally celebrate the unconditional love of our puppy pals. Evan and Carissa share their fondest memories of the noblest art, which mostly means all the best fuck-ups from their history in theatre. For any actor, director, audience member, or lover of blooper reels, have we got a show for you.

This week Evan and Carissa solve gender relations! OK, not really, but we do discuss some of the more prevalent issues between the genders within the overarching geeky communities - most specifically in gaming culture.  While we won't be winning any Peace Prizes for our contribution here, we take a moderate, common sense, humanitarian look at some of the misapprehensions, misunderstandings, and misogyny that plague games and geek ventures in general.  Sparked by a particularly egregious incident at the Dota 2 Shanghai Major tournament, Carissa explains both of the friendzones (and how to get out of them) before tackling a more serious problem. Remember, you don't need to be a White Knight to be a decent human being. Warning: some offensive language presented.

We are right chuffed to be joined this week by the Bearded Pods' very own Trevor Furlong, formerly of Scotland Yard and present acclaimed bassman of Teddy and the Bassman. In the first of what will hopefully be several appearances, our guest shares his experiences as a stranger in a not-terribly-as-strange-as-you'd-think land. Our talk ranges far and wide, touching Cockney rhyming slang, immigration culture shock and the lack thereof, imported television, subtle differences in humor, and more. Anglophiles like Carissa will not want to miss this episode. Evan was the last person on Earth to watch Firefly and now he gets to share with us the joy of being the lucky one.  Lamentable as the show's premature cancellation is (damn you, Fox!), most of us have had the better part of a decade to mourn its loss while he is finding himself in the throes of new grief. Like most of us, the only closure he can really find is from incessantly going over all the great things we can only ever enjoy on rewatching. You can't take the sky from me.

Attention grammar nerds and logophiles: this one's for you! Reformed grammar nazi Carissa opens up her ever-expanding list of adult vocabulary words to share them with Evan - and you, our faithful listeners. Evan, in turn, shares a very few choice examples of the words with which Shakespeare graced us. We even toss in a few from across the seas, because what would a talk about English be if it didn't include some linguistic pilfering? This is an episode far shorter than it could have been, all about the collection of sounds which make up the lovely, thieving, sadomasochistic English language.

You know all those "little details" movie and tv producers just get WRONG? The ones that make your otherwise enjoyable movie or tv show slightly less enjoyable - or worse, downright unwatchable? Yeah those. This week we bring back fan favorite friend of the show Winston to help us ruin your movies for you by pointing out all the things in some of our favorite (and least favorite) productions which the makers just screwed up. Covering editing mistakes, historical inaccuracies, and just plain fuck-ups, we leave no sacred cow untipped. What are your pet peeve mistakes from movies or TV?
