This episode is for you who has always worked harder than everyone else, cared more than everyone else, took on more than everyone else. This episode is for you, who has dreams of achieving more but who doesn't think good things happen to normal people. 5: "It's harder when you're black. And when you're big. And when you're a woman. If you have to fight for it, you're not there yet." Patche Natise, HR Advisor and Plus Size Fashion Blogger.

53m · Published 08 Sep 04:00

"I have 7 fabulous sisters who are tall and slim. I was short and big. I had to learn to be confident. I grew up faking it until I made it. I had to learn that being different in my super power. Becoming confident is a process. You have to learn to dress nicely, do things you enjoy and say nice things to yourself".

Quite literally the best conversation I've had all month, maybe year! If you only do one thing this week, listen to this episode - a relaxed, "straight from the couch" conversation with my favourite Parisian Patche Natise. She talks about French culture and its lack of representation, her love affair with the UK, working in a London theatre versus working as a HR advisor in Paris, how she became a plus size fashion blogger and influencer and how you can become confident in your own skin too.

Unpretentious, easy going, kind, honest, heart warming, inspiring and unmissable.

4: "When all this happened, which I obviously wasn't prepared for, I felt like I'd made the biggest mistake of my life". Donna Jackson, Digital Marketing Consultant, content creator and writer.

55m · Published 07 Jul 04:00

"...but if it wasn't for making that leap, when I went off and left Comedy Central, then going onto Living, going to Sky and then going on to this other company, none of this other stuff would have happened. At the time I felt like I should've stayed there. You know... everything gets easier. I could do it until I'm 60. It's just the most amazing company. But when all this other stuff happened, which I obviously wasn't prepared for, I just felt like I'd made the biggest mistake of my life. But then I look back now and I didn't make the biggest mistake, I just learned and grew up during that journey, I learned a huge amount of things, which I probably would never have learned because I would have only stayed at a certain level there". It has enabled me to grow". Donna Jackson, Digital Marketing Consultant, Content Creator, Social Media Influencer and writer.

Donna and I discuss working in television and its culture towards flexible working, going freelance, working around small children, having your life out in the open as an Influencer, how to get started in the digital world, being authentic when working for yourself, and so much more. Extremely upbeat (just like Donna!), an insight into a world which may be alien to you as it was to me, funny, honest, authentic and unmissable!

3. "It's very clicky and some people might look down on others because of what they do". Sharon Salihu, Mental Heath First Aider and Administration Manager.

32m · Published 30 Jun 04:00

"It's very clicky and some people don't talk to each other or some people might look down on others because of what they do. It's got better over the years. It was very segregated... depending on what part of the Arts you worked... determined how you were judged". Sharon Salihu, Mental Heath First Aider and Administration Manager.

Sharon talks to us about accidentally falling into her job after failing her A-Levels, becoming a fan of wrestling as a channel of acceptance, the pressure on teenagers to choose a vocation and how we are expected to behave in a certain way at work, a way which silences your voice and your ideas. Honest, extremely relatable and unmissable.
