Here we tackle the use of standards in Higher Education learning and teaching. We are both involved in apprenticeship programmes where standards are used to evaluate overall apprentice achievement.  

Maybe our sessions and modules should allow students to spend time foraging for knowledge rather than simply following a trail of breadcrumbs...

Welcome to the introduction to our podcast series. How do any of us learn at university? On the one hand, it seems so straightforward, particularly when you read many of the policy and guidance documents in higher education (HE). However, we are not so sure. In working with students something magical can happen that we cannot quite put our finger on. In this series of podcasts, we take common subjects in HE learning and teaching and explore what is going on.
