Do you like trees?

Yes, I love trees. I live in a small hill in Pensylvania and the hill is covered with all kinds of trees such as evergreen trees, cherry trees, Japanese maples and things like that. It’s just wonderful to be surrounded by so many trees and be a part of such beautiful scenery. I find Walking under the shade very pleasant. you can hear birds chirping, the wind blowing in your face and see the leaves falling. It’s really refreshing to all of our senses.

Would you like to live in a place that has lots of trees?

Yes. As I mentioned earlier, I live in a hill, and I’m so thankful to be able to live here and would like to be around trees and nature in general. It’s really beautiful all year round. In the winter, the trees are covered with snow which makes it especially charming. In the summer and spring, different branches of trees start to grow and everything just looks so lush. And my favorite is the autumn as I can watch the leaves in red and yellow falling under the gentle breeze.

Evergreen trees:Cây thường xanh

Cherry trees: cây anh đào

Japanese maple: cây phong Nhật Bản

Under the shade: dưới bóng râm

to all of our senses: đến tất cả các giác

Do you think places with trees attract more visitors than places with few trees?

I believe so. I guess especially when people are traveling. Trees are just restful and provide a sense of calmness to our body and soul. I think amidst the chaos and busyness of life, surrounding ourselves with nature would be quite a treat. I guess, among other factors such as food, physical activities, people tend to be drawn to trees or nature in general.

A sense of calmness: Một cảm giác bình yên

Amidst chaos: Giữa sự hỗn loạn

A treat: một điều tuyệt vời.

Did you ever climb trees when you were a child?

Yes, I have. As a kid, I often went to my grandmother’s hometown which is in the countryside. My cousins and I hung out often and one of our favorite activities is climbing trees. Sometimes, just for the fun of it and sometimes we want to get certain kinds of fruit to eat together. Those were fond memories that I’m so fortunate to have.

Just for the fun of it: chỉ để vui thôi

Fond memories: những kỉ nghiệm đáng nhớ

Have you ever planted a tree?

As I recall, I did try to plant a durian with my grandmother when I was a child. It was quite fun to get your hands dirty and put a tiny seed down to the ground. More than that, for a tree to grow, it requires you to put in effort consistently to care for it everyday such as watering, fertilizing, protecting it from bugs, and once you see things start to spring up, it’s one of the most satisfying, rewarding experience to me.

fertilizing:

Bugs: sâu bọ

Spring up: lớn lên
