Adam Welcome

Well, everyone, you are not going to believe it. In fact, it’s hard for me to believe it. But, our guest today is Mr. Adam Welcome. Yeah, you heard me right. I’m still a little bit in shock that he’s with us today. Adam is passionate about technology integration with all Educators and a huge advocate of social media in connecting with other Educators from across the country. Adam makes it clear that kids come first and has preached the message of Team Kid from many years. He is also the co-founder of kids deserve it and the author of run like a pirate and Empower our girls. Adam lives in the northern California area with his amazing wife and two kids he also loves to run and has completed 25 marathons. So I think run like a pirate is a very appropriate way for him to describe his Outlook. Recently, Adam was a featured speaker at my district’s annual digital learning conference. He led sessions for our teachers focused around the Kids Deserve It movement, social media as a PLN, and maker spaces. He graciously agreed to sit down with me for a few minutes and talk. Be sure to give Adam's own podcast, The Ask Adam and Ryan Show, a listen! Season 1 Trailer

3m · Published 21 May 20:57
Who are the people who call themselves educators and why do they do the job they do?  As with many large and often politically-charged systems, the extreme voices on either side of the issue are more often the only voices heard or highlighted. They are loud and they garner mainstream attention in the media. It's the people on the ground, so to speak, who comprise the system and work in it every day that are not heard.  This podcast wants to give those people a voice. We want to talk to teachers, counselors, nurses, administrators, instructional coaches, curriculum experts, technology folks, educational law folks, school board members, basically anyone in the trenches working for kids. We want to hear their stories of WHY they work where they do, what brought them there, and why they stay.  We want to change the narrative a bit on education in the U.S. We've all heard the statistics of how far behind our students are compared to this country or that. We've heard the propaganda that comes out of certain corners about what type of education our kids need. We want to push past that and find out the real story. Are those statistics the real story? Stay tuned to find out. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
