Episode 185 - Three Minute Thursday ( get what you deserve )

4m · Published 14 Oct 14:43

Welcome to Three Min Thursday, episode number 185. Hey, so, you know, I was listening to some stuff while you know, like, my warning runs like I always do. And I listen to a lot of motivational stuff and think about it. And, you know, I heard Jim Ron where he talked about in life. It's not what you should get. What you need is what you deserve. And that really, really touched me about, yes, in life, we feel like we need this and we should be given this. Is that what we should get is what we deserve. And he says a farmer can look at the ground and say, hey, I need my harvest. Well, the farmer knows what he needs to do to get that harvest. He needs to make sure that he puts the seed in, you know, you reap what you sow kind of thing. If you don't sew any seed, if you don't saw the plan, you're not gonna get your harvest. It's just like that. You can't say, I want I want Orange trees coming out of a tree. I want oranges coming out of a tree. But you have never done anything to get those oranges out of a tree. You never even put any seeds up there. And that just opened up my mind. You know, people feel like, especially nowadays, in this age of day, people think they need this. They should get this. You only get what you deserve. And that's what's called life. Life is you have to do hard work in order to deserve something. And the age where we are living at, where everybody has this sense of entitlement. There's a lot of this free money floating around post COVID. I just feel like we have done lazy. There's a lot of people who don't want to go to work because they feel like they need to get more money. It's not what you need to get. It's what you deserve. How much are you gonna input to deserve something people always think about? Oh, man, I need to be making $100,000. But what have you done to get that $100,000? I mean, How's your attitude? How's your work? Are you coming in early, leaving late? Are you making sure are your top performer in your company? Wherever you work, are your top performer in the business. You own a lot of people. They don't even show up to work, like on Friday.  nd then they're all Friday at a Sunday, and they feel like their business is not doing good Well, why is your business not doing good? You haven't gone to work. Don't show up to work. And a lot of people when they are new business owners, I feel like they feel like a business should give them.

Episode 184 - Jeremy Jenson ( Founder and CEO of Encore Search Partner )

1h 4m · Published 12 Oct 15:00

Welcome to Make Sh*t Happen This is episode number 184. My guest today is Jeremy Jenson. He's the founder and CEO of Encore Search Partner, a 37% executive search firm here in Houston, Texas. He's 34 years old, father of three young sons, and has a passion for mentoring emerging young entrepreneurs. He grew up in a Leave, Texas, as the oldest son to a single mother that had him. At 16 years old, Jeremy had to scratch and claw for everything that was given to him in life. Although he was a Straight-A student, he was a college dropout. After making $100,000 in telecom sales. At 22 years old, I and Jeremy resonated very much because that's exactly the path I wanted to after. So after I was making over $100,000 in long-distance sales, I ended up dropping out of the University of Houston. We had a great podcast session. Jeremy is very outspoken and very uncanny with these words. You'll hear a lot of beeping throughout this podcast because we wanted to kind of still keep it very, very. But I enjoyed the episode. He had a different point of view and me and, we did not agree on a lot of stuff. I still think that Jeremy is a bright, bright, bright young man and he has a lot to say. And I hope you all enjoy this interview as much as I did. But no further Ado. Let's jump into this interview with Jeremy Jenson.

Episode 183 - Three Minute Thursday ( No overnight success )

9m · Published 07 Oct 17:29

Welcome to Make Sh*t Happen. This is episode number 183. This is three minutes Thursday. Hey, guys, how are you all doing this beautiful Thursday Astros are in the playoffs. Hopefully, we make it out of this one and win this series and back to the World Series one more time. And hopefully, we are victorious this World Series and shut everybody off about what they say about the Astros. But anyway, hey, listen, guys. So this morning, I am, you know, I was thinking about some things. I mean, while I was just, like, got sitting meditating, enjoying the beautiful weather and, you know, people always talk about overnight success. People think people look at these singers or an actor and or someone says, oh, man, I can't believe this guy just as an overnight success. He got all these hits and everything. I want to tell you, there's nothing called an overnight success because to reach that overnight success, it must have taken 5678 years. If you want to be successful, you got to lay the groundwork. You have to. You must lay the groundwork. If you want to buy something big, you must start saving towards that big purchase towards you want to make sure that you are financially independent, you have to work towards that financial independence. Rich mindset. People who have a rich mindset, don't spend everything they earn, they save before they spend, not spend everything. And then whatever is left, maybe put it in savings. No, that's not how it works. People who have the rich mindset, people who are rich, save before they spend. They don't want to see that money because money is such a temptation. If you have it, you'll spend it, put it somewhere, put it in a savings account and you will ensure that you're going to be rich. People say you know what I had someone said the other day? Well, you know, if I have any advice for my younger self, I'll spend everything I earned in my 20s. Well, I think that's a poor mindset because you should start saving. And I honestly wish someone should have told me this. Hey, start saving when you're 15 or 16 or 17, start putting it away because people need to know the principle of money. The rich get richer. The wealthy get wealthier because they are saving. There's something called compound interest. Compounding your money. Your money doubles every seven years. Nobody tells you that in middle school or high school or even in College.

Monday Motivation ( See you at the top )

1m · Published 04 Oct 16:00

Happy Monday, guys, I just want to give you a little Monday motivation today. So I read somewhere that what comes up must come down. There's businesses that were like, at their peak, Montgomery Wards, Kmart, Sears. And they're all gone today. And for you to stay up and maintain it, you gotta constantly be growing. You gotta be constantly improving. You got to constantly be inventing yourself. And before the iPhone thing, we used to have these Nokia phones. We used to have these blackberries and where they are today, iPhone went up every year every six months. iPhone has some kind of new update, some kind of new invention. And I feel like if you're not reinventing yourself, you're not updating yourself. You're not becoming the better version of yourself. Then soon enough, I mean, you become stagnant and you can't go up anymore. And you know what is up. One day will come down and must come down one Monday motivation, I can tell you, is always reinvent yourself. Always update yourself. Always study something, get a new skill, get something new, read books, develop yourself and just have something that you can say, hey, you know what? I'm the better-updated version of me every six months every year. That's just a Monday motivation. So keep updating yourself. Keep reinventing yourself and you will stay on top. And if you're not on top, you will get on top. see you at the top.

Episode 181 - Three Minute Thursday ( The difference between a rich mindset and a poor mindset )

6m · Published 30 Sep 15:00

This is episode number 181. This is three minute Thursday. Hey, guys, you know, today I was this morning I was running around and, you know, I'm thinking the difference between a rich mindset and a poor mindset and how you can become rich. There's a couple of easy ways people can become rich. And I'm not even a lie to you can listen to 25 different motivational, leader, and inspiring leaders, people who have created wealth. And number one is to make sure that you want to be rich. You make sure you gotta have a goal. And you gotta have that written down. And you gotta look at that goal. And you got to read that goal, and you gotta make sure you can manifest that into reality. And number two, the people who ever always become rich, they don't live a hundred percent of what they earn. So if you earn $1,000 a week, if you live on the $1,000, you will never become rich.

Episode 179 - Three Minute Thursday ( Success is measured by what makes you happy )

5m · Published 23 Sep 15:00

This is episode number 179. I was talking to somebody earlier today, and we were just going back through my journey, right? Like, I'm talking about my business journey, what I have done, what I've gone through. And the more I talked to this guy's name is Tim. And the more I realized that I made so many mistakes when I first started. And that's one of the reasons I always always, always tell young entrepreneurs that they must be patient, because when I first started my business and now I wanted it all. And I wanted it right now. And I was just making mistakes after mistakes. And honestly, like Tim said that I was like a cat because I had nine lives. And it should have been like that because I should have known. But nobody was there to mentor me. Nobody was there to tell me, you know, we didn't have podcasts at that time. We did not have YouTubes, all that other stuff. And I made so many mistakes. I was over-leveraging myself. I was undercapitalized, did have no working capital was going day to day thing. I was basically in a hamster wheel. And when you're in a hamster wheel and the hamster is running, I mean, the wheel is going faster and faster and faster, and as soon as it little piece of debris gets stuck in there or the wheel stops. And it doesn't matter how hard you try, how hard that debris stuck in that wheel and nothing is gonna happen. And that was me. I mean, that happened to me so many times. And I was talking to Tim earlier, and Tim was like, Well, what made you make it? How did you get out of it? I said, Tim, the difference between me and a lot of other people is that a lot of the people quit because they are like, well, when is the time to quit? And nobody knows when the time to quit is. And I didn't quit. And I got out of it.
