My guest on today’s show is Tiffany Shim. Tiffany is a Math Intervention aid outside of Austin, Texas. She has taught 4th and 5th grade for the past 4 years.

Tiffany and I talk about her new role as a math intervention aid and why she had to take a year off from teaching due to health concerns. Tiffany shares how easily it is to get our identity wrapped up in teaching and we talk about how dangerous that can be. We talk about establishing boundaries for our time. Kaylee and I chat about her time as a Peace Corps Volunteer as well has what she is currently studying in grad school at the University of Denver. Kaylee tells us all about Humane Education and gives us practical steps on how to integrate it into our classroom. Oh! And she talks about the first few times chickens walked in her kindergarten classroom in the middle of her teaching! 

Holly and I chat about our fun memories teaching 2nd and 3rd grade together the past four years. This year Holly has transitioned to school counselor at a charter school. We talk about the challenges of being the new teacher on campus, how to cope through difficult seasons of teaching, and she even shares about the dog she is currently fostering!
