Raisin requires general anesthesia for a dental scaling due to periodontitis. We will follow Raisin from preanesthetic examination and assessment through anesthesia and recovery, with a focus on anesthetic concerns and fluid therapy goals for a renal patient. The listener will learn the benefits of pre-anesthetic fluid administration, what fluid type and rate are most appropriate for this patient, and whether fluid therapy should be continued following anesthesia.
