Danielle Krysa has a BFA in Visual Arts, and a post-grad in graphic design. She is the writer/curator behind the contemporary art site, The Jealous Curator (est.2009), and has curated art shows from Washington DC to Los Angeles, San Francisco to Toronto. Danielle creates her own artwork as well – mixed media collages which combine found images, paint, and as much humor as she can pack into each title. When she’s not in the studio, Danielle is writing books : “Creative Block”, “Collage”, and “Your Inner Critic Is A Big Jerk” were the first three, “A Big Important Art Book – Now with Women”,. And “How to Spot and Artist” as her fourth and fifth books. Danielle has also had the great pleasure of speaking at TEDx, PIXAR, Creative Mornings, CreativeLive, and was interviewed for several video segments on oprah.com.

She talks about her life before becoming an artist and how she has moved forward since her traumatic life event - being a survivor of a car kidnapping (as she talks about in the Part 1 Episode/Episode 39). Margot takes us along her life journey into becoming an artist and how she seeks happiness in her life every day. Margot Dermody is an artist living in Pittsburgh, PA. Born in Maryland, she was exposed to art and science at a young age through her mother, an artist, and her father, a mathematician. She received a B.A. in Economics and an M.P.S. in Hotel Administration, both from Cornell University. Margot has lived and worked in San Francisco, New York, Boston, and Nashville. Growing up, she moved from Maryland to upstate New York, and lived in Rome when she was 12 years old, where she learned Italian.
Margot has been exploring and making art for more than 30 years. As a child, she had a passion for ceramics, photography, cooking, sewing, and performance arts. Primarily self-taught, she works in acrylic on canvas, wood, and paper as well as in mixed-media with photography, collage, oil, found materials, and most recently glass. Margot’s work includes elements of nature and emotion in a palette that varies from vibrant to monochromatic.
