Moloch: Ammonite God

Moloch was an Ammonite Sun God and personified the detrimental effects of the sun's rays on earth.  Bronze statues were erected in his honor throughout ancient Canaan and he was worshipped with the practice of human sacrifice.  He was demonized in Hebrew lore, referred to "the abomination of the Ammonites" (1 Kings 11:7).

Nimrod: The Mighty Hunter Before the Lord

Nimrod

A son of Cush and grandson of Ham. The events of his life are recorded in (Genesis 10:8) , from which we learn that he was a Cushite who  established an empire in Shinar; the chief towns being Babel, Erech, Accad and Calneh; Nimrod extended this empire northward along the course of the Tigris over Assyria, where he founded a second group of capitals, Nineveh, Rehoboth, Calah and Resen. The influence of Nimrod does not end with his untimely death, but continues with his wife Semiramis and son, Tammuz, said to be Nimrod reincarnated.

This weeks episode we will discuss the Christmas Demon Krampus, Krampus is a demon said to be the son of the Norse Goddess Hel. Krampus himself historically comes around the night of December 5, tagging along with St. Nicholas. He visits houses all night with his saintly pal. While St. Nick is on hand to put candy in the shoes of good kids and birch twigs in the shoes of the bad, Krampus' particular specialty is punishing naughty children. Legend has it that throughout the Christmas season, misbehaved kids are beaten with birch branches or can disappear, stuffed into Krampus' sack and hauled off to his lair to be tortured or eaten. So sit back and relax as we discuss the darker side of Christmas and it’s favorite black sheep of the family, Krampus.

Asmodeus: The 32nd Spirit of Solomon

Asmodeus is the king of demons mostly known from the  Book of Tobit, included in the Roman Standard Version Catholic Edition of the Bible.  Asmodeus the demon is also mentioned in  Talmudic legends, such as in the story of the construction of the Temple of Solomon and is present in Persian Mythology as one of the Seven Archangels .
