Today, the lads are joined with William Murphy to have a chat about the War of Indepence 1919-1921. Will Murphy is a History lecturer in DCU and the co-author of ‘Michael Collins: The Man and the Revolution’, so what better person to have on the podcast than Will Murphy.

Today the lads take a deep dive into the birth of one of the biggest fiction characters of all time. Stoker has a wonderful background and comes to fame in a really exciting time in Ireland and Britain. His spooky upbringing has an effect on Dracula and Dracula still has an amazing hold over modern audiences.

New episode about the Habsburgs and their dynasty coming out at midday today! We have a look at some of their biggest accomplishments as a family and some of the key players. Starting off with an explaination of the Habsburg Empire and how it managed to spread across Europe (4:40) Key player number one is Maria Theresa (7:35) with the other key figure being Charles II of Spain (13:48). Today the lads look at De Valera, Ireland’s first Taoiseach. From his early days in Limerick (1:10) and his questionable bravery in 1916 (8:00) to the foundations of Fianna Fail, (15:00) we look into his rise to power.
