Quick Tips For Dads

Today I discuss whether going back to school as a dad is a good thing.  For me, it has changed my life.  I love learning but school isn't necessarily for everyone.  School can be hard, and adding a wife and kids to the mix makes it even harder. I believe it is a very personal decision, but a potentially very rewarding one.

What do the veteran players on the New Zealand All Blacks do when they win the world cup? The answer might surprise you.  They clean out the locker room for the younger players on the team, they call it, sweeping the sheds.  I learned this lesson a few years ago from a mentor of mine named Brian Holman the former coach of the University of Utah Men's Lacross team.  It is a lesson that still resonates with me. Today I discuss how we can sweep the sheds in our own lives.

Perspective is an interesting thing.  It can make our problems seem so much smaller. I believe that is helpful in combating the negativity in our lives.  Today I discuss Sir Earnest Shackelton's 1914-1916 adventure in the South Pole.  They suffered to stay alive but they all made it, frostbite and all.
