Amanda Janoo is the Knowledge and Policy Lead for the Wellbeing Economy Alliance (WEALL). Amanda is an economic policy expert with over a decade of experience working with governments and international development institutions around the world. Her work aims to build just and sustainable economies through goal-oriented and participatory policy design processes.

Prior to joining WEAll, Amanda worked for the United Nations and the African Development Bank as an industrial policy and structural transformation expert. As a Fulbright researcher, she explored the relationship between international trade and informal employment. She graduated from Cambridge University with an MPhil in Development Studies and heralds from the green mountain state of Vermont, in the USA.

Gilad Cohen is an Israeli-Canadian Toronto-based artist, photographer, podcaster, public speaker, and advocate for human rights. Since 2008, Gilad has worked as a community mobilizer with a focus on connecting audiences to urgent and compelling stories through multimedia arts. In 2012, Gilad founded JAYU, an award-winning Toronto-based charity that serves the arts community through the annual Human Rights Film Festival, The Hum, a human rights podcast which he produces and co-hosts, as well as the iAM Program, an initiative that provides arts and social justice mentorship to more than 200 equity-seeking youth from across the GTA each year. He is an alumna of the Toronto Arts Council Leaders Lab and the Rothschild Fellowship at Cambridge University in the UK.

Joshua Carter (aka Teen Jesus Barbie) is a local business owner, adjunctive health practitioner and Drag Queen, all rolled into one. Stuart McGill is Professor Emeritus (Spine Biomechanics, University of Waterloo) who authored over 240 scientific journal papers, 5 books, and mentored over 40 graduate students during this scientific journey. Investigations in the laboratory, training centre and research clinic probed back injury and pain mechanisms, rehabilitation approaches, and performance training. As a consultant, he has provided expertise on low back injury to various government agencies, many corporations and legal firms and hundreds of professional/international athletes and teams worldwide. Tim Grant is a graduate of the University of Guelph.  He enrolled in the Canadian Forces on graduation, retiring in 2008 as a Major-General.  He has planned and led operations at home and abroad.  He commanded the army in western Canada and Canadian troops in Bosnia and Afghanistan. 

 

Tim has a strong background in policy development and program implementation.  During his career, he interacted with all levels of government, from municipal to federal, both domestically and internationally.  He is an Officer in the Order of Military Merit and was awarded the Meritorious Service Cross by the Governor General for his leadership in Afghanistan.

 

Tim joined the Alberta Public Service in August 2008 as an Assistant Deputy Minister in the Department of Energy.  He was responsible for electricity, alternative energy, and carbon capture and storage policies and programs. He led the Government’s response to the Slave Lake fires in May 2011.  Tim was the Deputy Minister of Alberta Transportation from October 2011 to November 2012.  He was appointed Deputy Solicitor General in December 2012 and on September 6, 2013, appointed Deputy Minister of Justice and Solicitor General.  On July 6, 2015, Tim was appointed Deputy Minister of Service Alberta. In May 2017, he was appointed Executive in Residence at the Alberta School of Business. 

 

Tim returned to the Alberta Public Service in 2019 as the Public Service Commissioner.
