Approximate Heroes

The heroes attempt to take Kragma Castle for reals this time. Rowen tries some more stealth with mixed results, Deadeye shows a table who's boss, and the group learns the problem with Emeldir being their meat shield. Watch out for the magical meat grinder!

The Approximate Heroes go to Kragma Castle after learning about the identity of the Black Spider. Rowen goes on a solo adventure that goes pretty well until it doesn't. Deadeye, Emelir, and Reyphine meet some unwanted guests, and the whole thing comes down to some harrowing stealth rolls.

Fresh off a resounding victory, the Approximate Heroes delve further into the Redbrands' Hideout, plundering along the way. Rowen and Emeldir chase down a new foe, while Deadeye and Reyphine struggle against a familiar one. Chase scenes, pathetic death saving rolls, and more on this week's episode of Approximate Heroes!

The Approximate Heroes do something nice for someone! But then it leads to the undead, which Rowen wants nothing to do with. They then do some more  exploring within the caverns under the Redbrands' hideout, when they encounter some sort of horrible monster that Reyphine wants nothing to do with. The monster deals with with Deadeye and Emeldir mostly, whom the monster wants nothing to do with. We see some actual heroism, which means we might need to rename this party!

The Approximate Heroes delve deeper into the Redbrands' hideout and discover a brand new nemesis: pits. Rowen in particular struggles with this foe until the pit is defeated. The group then discovers a chance for some righteous murder which they hope will work out in their favor. Find out what waits in store this week!

The heroes press onward in the town of Phandolin, looking for a castle where a friend has been taken. Their quest takes them to a seedy bar, where the heroes throw down in the Fray in the Entryway! Deadeye shows why he's a fearsome pirate, and Rowen jut wants to watch the world burn. A turn toward the Redbrand hideout promises to have some adventure just around the corner.

The heroes acquire some treasure! It's not much, but it's a lot to them. Deadeye has some ideas of what to do with the goblin corpses, and it turns out Rowen's parade of ones continues and leads to a broken nose! Reyphine desperately wants to leave the cave, so Emeldir goes on a journey of self-discovery all the way to Phandolin, where the group engages in retail therapy, settles debts with gold teeth, and stumbles upon some side-quests for another day.

In Episode 3, our sufficient heroes make a deal with the goblin captain to save the hostage's life. Unknown to them, the upcoming battle will test all of their mettle. The heroes endure hardships in combat like they've never had to before, and get a real taste of failure (spoiler alert: it tastes like low rolls and saving throws). Can Rowen survive her parade of ones? Will goblin incompetence make our heroes look good? Find out here on Episode 3!

The adventure continues with some light spelunking, followed by Reyphine and Emelidr getting distracted by wolves. Rowen and Dead-eye trade pirate jokes before the party gets in over their heads (quite literally). Plus, we hear some goblin camp songs before Reyphine melts a few goblins and Dead-eye electrocutes the others.

Four brand new adventurers, the Approximate Heroes, embark on a new quest to deliver a wagon to Phandolin. Along the way, the newbies get their first taste of combat, first taste of low roll purgatory, and first goblin roasting at the hands of elf Reyphine. Lightning Pirate Deadeye rocks some goblin skulls, and Rowen the Rogue cuts down some would-be enemies. What could lie in store for them at the end of the trail? Join us next week to find out!
