This Week's Guest: Laurie Ulster

Laurie Ulster is a transplanted Canadian who somehow survived a very confusing adolescence as the lone female Star Trek fan in middle school, then fell in love with Manhattan about 10 minutes after her arrival at NYU. After many years as a television producer, where networks like MTV had her producing everything from musician interviews in dive bars all over the East Village to game shows in Malaysia, she made the switch to digital, overseeing websites at Fuse and A&E. Now Laurie is a freelance writer who does researched articles, original interviews, personal essays, listicles, event coverage, trending news, and much more. She also still writes and produces for TV, and is a contributing writer on several books. Laurie has been a writer, editor, copy editor, and social media strategist for TrekMovie.com since 2016, where she co-hosts the All Access Star Trek podcast. It’s a passion project, along with popping up as a guest on other Star Trek and sci-fi podcasts. Laurie is also a co-founder of Read It All Up®, a media company focused on kids’ literacy. They are currently collaborating on the creation of an original TV series for kids.
