Paganism: My Journey so Far

5m · Published 31 Aug 17:33

TRANSCRIPT PREVIEW:

I started this journey a couple months ago and have just now gotten to the point of really delving deep into my Pagan journey. I have been trying to find a good place to start: podcasts to listen too, books to read, stone/gems to get ... a journal to jot all my notes into and look at later on.

In my beginning research, I came across a blog named Round the Cauldron by Megan Black, she has been the only one that claimed to want to help in people's journey into paganism and actually helped me get started. It all started with a simple email requesting a beginners guide into the path of paganism. She suggested a book called Paganism for Beginners: The Complete Guide to Nature Based Spirituality for Every New Seeker by Althaea Sebastian I found it on Amazon (click links to get to the book and to the authors profile on Amazon). This book is free on Unlimited and has an Audiobook version too, which is what I started with, then got the physical copy to add to my book collection. This book helped me figure out where my affinity lies within the Pagan community and I found it super helpful with how she broke down the various different chapters of paganism. This journey has helped me find my spiritual connection again and it feel like I am on the right path for the first time in a long time. This is a journey I am doing all on my own and for myself, I'm not expecting anyone else to follow my path, this is all just for me and it feels so good. I am not a religious person, so organized religion has never been my thing, I tried it (wrote up my journey into that in a previous blog) and it's just not for me. But I do believe in spirituality, more specifically, universal spirituality. Which isn't based around organized religion. My pagan affinity I am drawn to is Heathenry, more specifically Asatru (Norse Pagan). I am also a Eclectic, Solitaire pagan.

Paganism, Crochet and Spirituality

5m · Published 24 Aug 16:04

TRANSCRIPT PREVIEW

I have recently been dabbling in paganism trying to find my fit, if any, and some spiritual guidance. I have never been one that is religious, I mean I tried to be a “good” Christian in my teens and early adult years. But I became jaded with the concept of god, because he supposedly doesn’t give you more than you can handle and believes that if you follow his gospel as best as you can you will live a full happy life. What I discovered over the years of trying to believe, is that if god wanted me to live in agony, pain and desperation in my life’s journey then this isn’t the god for me. I grew up in a not so great household, I suffered many years of various kinds of abuse at a very YOUNG age and it continued in most of my life’s journey. From the age of birth to about 25, I have had nothing but turmoil, pain and various forms of abuse in my life. I have always felt like a burden, for a long time I believed my life on this earth wasn’t worth much more than pain and abuse.

A Crafty Week In – Pinup Culture Edition

4m · Published 14 Jun 21:57

TRANSCRIPT PREVIEW: Over the last week I have been INSPIRED, so inspired in fact that I started creating again. It’s been such a looooong time since I created something that was my own that it felt kind of weird. I stopped creating patterns and ideas about a year ago because I got tired of them getting stolen in one way or another by someone else who thought they could do it better than me. I’m not your every day kind of crafter or your common crafter/creator, I make A LOT of custom products that come from inside my head and wrapped around a vision I have. I don’t even write the creation process down most of the time because it’s in my head and there is a LOT of troubleshooting I tend to lose track of where I started and where it ended. The fact that I was actually was able to keep track of what I was doing and what I was creating is a big deal for me. I actually wrote down patterns…. OH EM GE!!

Crochet with Jeanne’s Diner Designs: Maddie Doll – Crochet Doll

3m · Published 24 May 18:33

TRANSCRIPT PREVIEW:

Hello, this weeks crochet blog is about my latest project, Maddie Doll the Crochet Doll. She is in a semi-different style then my Daisy Duke Crochet Doll. Which is typical for me, I like to dabble in many different styles and patterns.

Maddie Doll is a custom designed pattern created by Eva S. (me) the Sole Proprietor of Jeanne’s Diner Designs. Most of my dolls are a trial and error type of creation, like I assume most people who deisgn do designing. But this one, it was easier then some of the others I did. I kept it simple. I had a vision, which I don’t typically draw out unless I have some major issues visualizing what I want to make. But Maddie, she was an easy make. Made with colors I absolutely LOVE and a style that was super easy for me to pop out. I don’t ever write down my designs because I like to keep each creation different. There are some things I use that are the same, like the shoe soles, arms, body structure and head. I do love a bigger bodied doll, but I haven’t been able to design a thicker body structure that I like and is attractive to my eye. Being a plus-sized woman I like to make dolls that support the plus-sized lifestyle.

Coming out of a pandemic and trying to get onto the next chapter of your life, it's a bit of a struggle, especially for someone with mental health issues. At the beginning of 2020 I had big goals and dreams, I look back at older blogs and wonder....

"What if the pandemic never happened, would I STILL be in the place I am now?"

The answer: Probably not, but Maybe.

YouTube and Twitch Live Streaming [RANT]

8m · Published 17 May 21:50

TRANSCRIPT PREVIEW:

When you are trying to organize your thoughts and mind for creating a YouTube presence and you are nervous to put yourself out there because other video/livestreaming platforms were just way too toxic. See, I’m a former Twitch live content creator, have been since the JustinTV days of 2010, but became super active in content creation in 2015. I used Twitch to help me promote my business and share my life with others, like many other people on the platform. BUT I refused to sell out and I stuck to my beliefs and direction and got stepped on in the long run. I have seen ALL walks of life come through Twitch and in the last few years things have changed so much that the platform has really gone downhill and I have been trying to remove the toxicity of the platform from my every day existence.
