Exegetical Fallacies Ep 7 - Do Gentile Believers Become Spiritual Jews

10m · Published 08 Jul 02:41

There are two false views circulating among believers which cause an awful lot of confusion. As always they come from not exegeting the scriptures correctly and not understanding the historical and cultural context of scriptures used.

In this episode of Exegetical Fallacies, we’re going to look at the first one; the belief that Gentiles become “spiritual Jews” upon believing in the Messiah. You can download Dr Arnold Fruchtenbaum's study “Jews, Gentiles and Christians” for free through this link.

Exegetical Fallacies Ep 6 - God's Plan Goes Way Beyond Returning Us To The Garden

4m · Published 08 Jul 02:37

Despite the rhetoric you hear in many circles, God's plan is not to take us back to our sinless state in the Garden. His plan is way, way better than that.

In this episode of Exegetical Fallacies, Rob looks at the objective God has in mind and which He has revealed through the scriptures and the goal which will bring Him ultimate glory. Not surprisingly, it centres on what Jesus accomplished through His death on the cross.

Once again, knowing the Bible in it's entirety gives us a clearer picture of the Lord.

Exegetical Fallacies Ep 5 - If You Break One Have You Broken Them All?

5m · Published 08 Jul 02:30

James 2 talks about adultery and murder, and basically says "It doesn't matter which of them you commit, either way you have broken the law". Verse 10 says "Whoever keeps the whole law but offends on even one point is guilty of breaking all the laws". Some people try to use this passage to say that means we have also committed the unforgiveable sin.

As Rob shows in this episode of Exegetical Fallacies, once again this comes from not knowing the scriptures and not reading them in their context. But, in this instance, it is also a case of twisting scripture to try and make it say what you want it to say.

The Weeping Prophet

31m · Published 08 Jul 02:27

There is a popular church song called These Are The Days Of Elijah. But they're not. They are the days of Jeremiah. Jeremiah was given an unwelcome task. Tell the people of God to repent otherwise God will destroy Jerusalem. However God also told him that they wouldn't listen.

Dr Jeffrey Seif is in the middle of a video teaching series on Jeremiah so Rob caught up with him to talk about the 'weeping prophet' and his relevance to us today. You can watch the series here: https://youtu.be/k29oUfT7UkU

Reaching Jewish People For Messiah

39m · Published 08 Jul 02:21

If you think that reaching Jewish people for the Messiah is as easy as saying "Did you know that Yeshua is actually your God?" then you need to watch this podcast.

On this Know My Faith podcast, Rob talks with Wes Taber (www.lifeinmessiah.org) about what we need to know before we start thinking about witnessing to God's chosen people. You can download a free copy of the book Reaching Jewish People for Messiah from this link:

Exegetical Fallacies Ep 4 - Sacrificing for Gentiles???

4m · Published 13 Jun 06:00

Within certain bounds, anyone can post anything on social media. That means anyone who has their own interpretation of the Bible can post what they think a certain passage or verse says. That doesn't make them right.

In this episode of Exegetical Fallacies, Rob looks at a comment regarding Paul sacrificing on behalf of gentiles - the inference being that he did so because they had broken the Law of Moses. So the question arises, are gentiles bound under the law of Moses? After much prayer, deliberation and searching of the scriptures the apostles came up with an answer to that question.

Depression? Or Just Depressed?

37m · Published 12 Jun 22:18

In this episode of Living Well, Alan (www.alandavy.nz) talks to Rob about the difference between being depressed and actual depression - of which there are various types and various triggers. Sometimes being able to make the distinction can begin the path to healing and living well. #livingwell #knowmyfaith

Exegetical Fallacies Ep 3 - Are the dates wrong for Christmas & Easter?

4m · Published 12 Jun 21:53

"If your Christ was born on December 25th, died on Good Friday and rose on Easter Sunday then He's not the Messiah spoken of in the Bible". Now you can't simply throw that assertion online and not back it up with scripture. Sadly this happens far too often.

So let's look at the death of Jesus. Yeshua died on Nissan 14. The fact that it was a Friday is attested by Luke 24:21. Join us to explore what the Bible says.

What Does "To The Jew First" Mean?

29m · Published 03 Jun 06:00

All scripture is important, but when the Bible repeats something we need to take notice. Four times in the New Testament Paul says "...to the Jew first and then to the Greek (gentile)". What does he mean by that?

On this Know My Faith podcast Rob explores this question with Levi Hazen, executive director of Life In Messiah Ministries (www.lifeinmessiah.org). Levi is passionate about the Lord and His Word. He is the host of The TŌV Podcast, a teaching ministry that brings a biblical view of Israel, eschatology, and ministry to Jewish people. You can access the podcast on the website

Exegetical Fallacies Ep 2 - Did Jesus Claim To Be God?

5m · Published 03 Jun 00:03

In this second episode of Exegetical Fallacies, Rob looks at the spurious argument that Jesus never claimed to be God. This idea is one of many that come from simply not knowing the historical and cultural context of the scriptures.

The reason we post these teaching videos is to give you the biblical foundation for refuting these types of arguments.
