Psilocybin and Right to Try Law With Kathryn Tucker, J.D.
43m · PublishedThis episode we focus on the intersection of law, psilocybin, and end of life care. Our guest is an attorney, who has fought for patient’s right to die with dignity and have access to substances that help with end-of-life care for the terminally ill.
Kathryn L. Tucker is Special Counsel at Emerge Law Group, where she Co-Chairs the Psychedelic Practice Group. Ms. Tucker served as lead counsel representing patients and physicians in two landmark federal cases decided by the United States Supreme Court, Washington v. Glucksberg and Vacco v. Quill, asserting that mentally competent terminally ill patients have a constitutional right to choose aid in dying.
These cases have helped bring nationwide attention to improving care of the dying, and to have established a federal constitutional right to aggressive pain management. Her most recent focus has been on utilizing Right to Try law to help terminally ill patients access psilocybin.
