How to be a better Manager and Leader as a Coach?

38m · Published 16 Jan 16:37

Once upon a time, most people began successful careers by developing expertise in a technical, functional, or professional domain. Doing your job well meant having the right answers.

Not today. Rapid, constant, and disruptive change is now the norm, and what succeeded in the past is no longer a guide to what will succeed in the future. Twenty-first-century managers simply don’t (and can’t!) have all the right answers.

This is a dramatic and fundamental shift and that's where every manager and leader needs the don the hat of a Coach, and move away from traditional command-and-control practices.

Who else but our esteemed guest, Mr. Bijay Kumar Khandal, an Entrepreneur, Mentor, and Coach can give us more insights on this. Bijay is an alumnus of IIT Madras and is also Executive Director in John Maxwell team, Certified Coach from Tony Robbins, IBGR Radio's Top Speaker, and has Coaching experience of over 13+ years. Through his company Peak Impact Mentorship he has changed the lives of many professionals, executives, and organizations.

How to Market Yourself as a Coach?

51m · Published 16 Jan 16:23

The boom in the coaching and consulting industry means clients have many choices when choosing the right coach or consultant. To get hired, you need to set yourself apart. You need a unique brand positioning and a strong market presence to attract the right clients. One of the big stumbling blocks I have seen is that most good coaches are humble and 'non-braggy,' so advertising themselves feels unnatural.

And the challenge is that no matter how excellent your coaching skills are, you will starve if you don't know how to market your coaching business. Having sales skills and strategies is essential to become a successful coach. That's where when I met Rajesh Nair, I thought he could help bridge that gap.

Rajesh is an advertising and marketing professional with over three decades of work experience and has started his coaching journey. He started his career as a Copywriter in 1990 and had stints with Ogilvy, DDB Mudra, and MAA Bozell. He worked on a diverse portfolio of brands during this time, including Bosch, Madura Garments, United Breweries, Welcomgroup, ANZ Bank, Compaq, Henkel, etc. Amongst his international accolades, his work for the Sheraton Towers hotel chain stands out, as it was the first David Ogilvy award to be won by an Indian agency. Rajesh left agency life as a Creative Director and set up his shop in 2005: Headjam Consulting Pvt Ltd. Clients have included Mindtree, Microsoft, Madura Garments, Capillary, Indian Terrain, Wipro, Mphasis, ESPN, and others. The work consists of everything from Brand Consulting and Corporate Identity to Advertising and Print Design.

With such a varied and rich experience in Marketing and Coaching, who else can give Coaches better clarity on how to market themselves?

15m · Published 06 Jul 21:11

Why do people often take better care of their pets than they do themselves? Some people go to a doctor, have medications prescribed, and then promptly neglect to take them as directed. Sometimes, they never even have the prescriptions filled.

Many of these same people take their pets to the vet and never even consider not following their advice.

Why would someone take better care of their pet than themselves?

Let's explore why some of us don't treat ourselves well and what can be done about it?
