A registered dietician has to complete a very long process. First you have to complete a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics, like a four-year degree.  Then you must do what is called a dietetic internship. This part of the process looks a little different for everyone. There are a few different paths you can take. But the large majority does what’s called a dietetic internship, which is what I did. I did mine through Montclair State University and you take some graduate courses, and you also complete over 1200 hours of supervised practice. So that’s working with people who are already dietitians in hospitals and in schools, all different types of areas, so that you can kind of learn and then you take a dietitian’s exam.  And once you complete the exam, you’re able to call yourself a Registered Dietitian and after that you must continue with continuing education credits to maintain the credential.  So basically, when someone is a Registered Dietician, you can just guarantee that they’ve had a lot of schooling about nutrition.

Dance has existed since the dawn of humankind it is a part of ever culture worldwide. It is physical movement of the body in a rhythmic way, for the purpose of expressing an idea or emotion, releasing energy, or simply for the pleasure of the movement itself.

Aristotle refers to dance as rhythmic movement whose purpose is “to represent men’s characters as well as what they do and suffer.” But today dance has evolved to embrace much more than man’s suffering. Dance can be categorized and described by its choreography, by its repertoire of movements, or by its historical period or place of origin. both may have special functions, whether social, ceremonial, competitive, erotic, martial, or sacred/liturgical. Other forms of human movement are sometimes said to have a dance-like quality, including martial arts, gymnastics, cheerleading, figure skating, synchronized swimming, marching bands, and many other forms of athletics. Dance is not solely restricted to performance, though, as dance is used as a form of exercise and occasionally training for other sports and activities.

Dance itself has also become a sport for some, with dancing competitions found across the world exhibiting various different styles and standards.

Dance requires an equal amount of cognitive focus as well as physical strength. The demanding yet evolving art-form allows individuals to express themselves creatively through movement, while enabling them to adapt movement that possesses a rhythmical pattern and fluid motions that allure to an audience either onstage or on film. Dance is considered to be a very aesthetically pleasing art-form with many health benefits.

Leslie A. Klardie, DMD | Cosmetic Dentistry & Your Health | S1 - EP3

41m · Published 11 Dec 23:15

Dentistry is one of the oldest medical professions dating as far back as 7000 B.C. to the Indus Valley Civilization (current day Pakistan, Afghanistan, and India). Hesy-Re, an Egyptian scribe who lived about 2600 B. C. is recognized as the first documented dental practitioner. In 1723, Pierre Fauchard, a French surgeon, is credited as the father of modern dentistry. He first introduced the idea of fillings, dental prosthesis, and the theory that acids from sugars lead to tooth decay.

Dental health is essential to maintaining general health and well-being. Gum disease or periodontal disease can not only cause tooth loss and infection, but is also linked to heart complications, strokes, diabetes complications, and respiratory issues. Good health= good dental health.

Dr. Leslie Ann Klardie is a 1990 Doctorate of Medical Dentistry recipient from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. With certifications to practice dentistry by the North East Regional Board of Dental Examiners, she immediately pursued additional Dental training in the Field of Prosthodontics at Emory University School of Dentistry in Atlanta, Georgia. In 1992 Dr. Klardie completed and received her Specialty Certificate in Prosthodontics.

Upon certificate completion, Dr. Klardie has been board eligible in the field of Prosthodontics. During her two-year advanced prosthodontic training, Dr. Klardie studied the dental disciplines of Removable dental prosthesis, Fixed Crown and Bridge, Cosmetic Dentistry, and Dental Implantology. Her advanced prosthodontic training included an internship in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics at the Veterans Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Klardie is a graduate of Temple University, where she has earned her undergraduate degrees in Sociology and Biology. Simultaneous to her undergraduate studies she was a Scholar Athlete and Team Captain of a Nationally ranked team in the Sport of Fencing.

Dr. Antonio Pulgliese | Chiropractic Medicine & You | S1 - EP2

18m · Published 11 Dec 21:00

Chiropractic medicine is a large and well-established health care profession in the United States, Canada, and Australia. Chiropractic was started by D. D. Palmer, a magnetic healer who formulated the vertebral subluxation theory, believing that all illness was secondary to a ‘misalignment” in the nervous system.

The public increasingly uses chiropractic largely for spinal pain syndromes. Of all the so-called alternative professions, chiropractic has made the largest inroads into private and public health care financing systems and is increasingly viewed as an effective specialty by many in the medical profession. Much of the positive evolution of chiropractic can be ascribed to a quarter century-long research effort focused on the core chiropractic procedure of spinal manipulation. This effort has helped bring spinal manipulation out of the investigational category to become one of the most studied forms of conservative treatment for spinal pain.

Dr. Pugliese graduated from the New York Chiropractic College in 2001. He works in Westfield, NJ and 1 other location and specializes in Chiropractor.
