2021 took me literally by storm and not in a great way, yet in a great way (if that makes sense. Here, I'm giving a brief update on all things Closet Thingz and changes to come. In this Episode, I list my top 5 (really 6, but who's counting) Middle Grade books that I either read with our kids or read ahead, in preparation to read with them. There are so many great Middle grade books out, so this list is just a small notch as to what's out there. The Authors mentioned are Nic Stone, Janae Marks, Lisa Moore Ramee, Ibram X. Kendi and Jason Reynolds. All of these Phenomenal Authors have many great works, and these mentioned flow right along with their greatness. So, the Authors are my shout-out this week. In this episode, I discuss the Crown Act and how it effects women of color with Natural hair, in the workplace or at school. It's a very crazy thing for something like this to have to be in place, simply because Natural hair isn't deemed 'kept' enough to be presentable in certain spaces. I talk about my own natural Hair journey and some simple products I use for my routine.
