Don't Lose Your Flavor!!! - Focus Flip w/ Christian Williams #04

33m · Published 29 May 00:32

How do we keep from losing our flavor?

We are breaking down Matthew 4:13-27, to recognize God's desire to uphold the laws and even level up their importance in a believer's life isn't to make life harder on us but to invite us into a place of greater need, intimacy, and dependence on Him.

He wants us to live the absolute best life of peace, rest, and love with Him & our community. He wants to show you how to live this life. To arise and run with Him to the higher place.

Also, bonus, I have a surprise for you! 😉

Steps to the Kingdom on Earth - Focus Flip w/ Christian Williams #03

17m · Published 21 May 20:57

We tend to think of Kingdom as something futuristic, however, what if it's meant to be lived on Earth as it is in Heaven?

What if Jesus wasn't expressing ethical idealism when he preached the Beatitudes, but steps to intimacy, dependence, and kingdom living on earth?

In this week's podcast, we focus on Matthew 5:3-12. We consider that each Beatitude is another step.

  • Poor In Spirt - Recognizing our desperate need for God.
  • Mourning - Because we realize the gravity of our sin, we mourn over it.
  • Meek - The humility found in knowing our weakness to be able to obey God.
  • Hunger & Thirst - The first three beatitudes create desperation, spiritual hunger and thirst, for our Savior.
  • Merciful - We were shown such great mercy, we now extend mercy to others.
  • Pure In Heart - The transformation Jesus does through the intimacy we have through spending time in His presence.
  • Peacemakers - Jesus is the Prince of Peace. We take on His personality traits through on personal relationship with Him.
  • Persecuted, insulted, and falsely accuses. Jesus tells us that they didn't accept Him & they persecuted the prophets before us.

Choosing to follow Jesus is #counter-cultural. People will say what people will say, but will you follow Jesus despite what is said?

What if your strength is found within your weakness?

35m · Published 14 May 01:41

What if your strength is found within your weakness?

"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:3

Who are the poor in spirit?

Those who recognize their need for God. Those who are utterly dependent on God.

In a society where everyone is building their own kingdoms - platforms, influences, etc. it's all about independence. It's all about becoming our own lords. However, what if that's what is crushing us?

What if this is why more people are dealing with anxiety and depression?

What if, in our attempt to be strong, independent, chasing daily changing trends, or trying to live life without Jesus... what if that perspective is hurting us?

What if our dependency on God truly gives us the Kingdom of God? Are you willing to let Him be the Lord of your life?

Kingdom Shift

20m · Published 06 May 06:56

Removing One's Shame - Jesus constantly removed shame and helped people see who God truly created them to be. He saw each person, honored them, and pointed them to the Kingdom of Heaven.

In this episode we talk about Isaiah 61:1-4, I read a few paragraphs from the book, "Captivating," and I share about how Jesus lifted people out of shame.

The question is, what if we did the same?

Focus Flip - Series Setup

7m · Published 06 May 06:45

Two Perspective Change Focuses

  1. Kingdom perspective
  2. People’s perspective

The number one thing Jesus talked about was the Kingdom of Heaven. So the question I will bring up throughout the podcast is, "What is the kingdom of heaven?"

What does that look like? How do we as believed live that out?

This podcast will have a quarterly series of 10-12 episodes focusing on one topic to deepen the conversation in.

Chasing Foxes...

19m · Published 14 Jul 06:33

Maybe your fox is a simple distraction…

It comes in and causes you to believe one little lie, and then another, and the next thing you are questioning who you are, what you are doing, and if God can even use you….

The beauty of the fox is deceiving. They may appear innocent, but they are destructive.
