In today's episode, Anna and Susannah talk about one huge roadblock that could be getting in your way as you step up in your relationship with God. It's your standards - they're too low.

Our standards are directly linked to our identity. Our identity is directly linked to our beliefs - more specifically - our beliefs about ourselves. Our beliefs about ourselves are formed from our childhoods, past experiences, past traumas, our culture, our religious or atheist upbringings, etc. Most people will live their entire lives based on a false identity. But to truly be a new creation, we must fully embrace our true identity - our identity in Christ.

Gettin' on fire for Jesus, for our faith and for our purpose is a lot harder than it should be, right? We have no problem pelvic thrusting, arm pumping, high fiving and screaming for a football game or gettin' all excited and worked up to hang out with friends. But when it comes to our time with Jesus, transforming our lives and loving people, sharing Jesus and transforming their lives it's all like, "Um, well - Gosh, I'm busy. Maybe tomorrow? K?" We just allow ourselves to get all fizzled and boring and ritualistic and blah blah blah! 

This is what Anna calls The Land of Mediocrity and Indifference (download this free audio lesson if you haven't already). God deserves better and we deserve better.

But today, miracles are a bit different, right? we’re not quite parting seas like we used to, huh? The miracles are A bit more subtle? Or are they?

You know what I think is so interesting - most of us think God can create miracles, but we’re unwilling to believe God can create a miracle through us.

God is an abundant gift giver, but often we're too wrapped up in the wrong things to notice the gifts in the first place! Like little kids on Christmas morning who unwrap countless gifts and just eventually just start tossing things over their shoulder - how many of God's incredible, precious gifts have we just tossed aside? And even if we do receive the gift we've been hoping for, if we don't change our heart, "grow up" and have emotional and spiritual discipline, will the gift even matter - or worse, be the cause of our downfall? Ask the majority of lottery winners. Multiplying God's gifts means we have to seek him first in all things, because if we don't then every precious gift will just turn into our eventual downfall. The gift ISN'T the actual gift. But this? This is ...
