We Got The Chocolates

by Leigh Drennan, Mitch Drennan & Andrew Gode

We have travelled around the world dreaming of playing sport professionally... and we never made it. However, if there is one skill we have acquired it’s the art of being a great team-mate.

We create content for the kid in every adult! There are Dad Jokes, fun games and plenty of chat about the things that made us laugh this week.

We know life gets busy, so this is our way of bringing you along for a chuckle. So grab a beer, coffee or glass of wine and join us for the fun.

20. Yup or Nup to the Cup?

57m · Published 13 Nov 02:54

Episode 20: In this Episode we tackle an issue that is probably outside our expertise, pay grade and intellect but we do it none the less. Small disclaimer. If you hate serious chat we talk Horse Racing and the ABC 7:30 Report from 14:00 - 23:00 so do feel free to skip to the bant. The good news is that you get far more words out of Mitch this week because he leads our discussion on the Melbourne Cup and even sings a song titled "Mitch Just Can't Eat a Meat Pie". Listen in to hear bulk discussion on nicknames, tourism campaigns for the Northern Territory, Matthew Renshaw's first innings after his debut on We Got The Chocolates and much more. We cover the Matildas pay rise, exiting Bali jails and hitting five sixes in an over. Mixed in are some staple segments: "Overused Sporting Buzzphrases", "The Social Sin Bin" and "A Minute to Thin It".  Make sure you get your ears around this one and if you like it don’t be afraid to share it with a friend! Remember, Ramble Responsibly. WGTC

19. Matthew Renshaw: My Favourite Format and The Sorting Hat

40m · Published 08 Nov 05:44

Episode 19: What a huge episode as Australian and Queensland opening batsman Matthew Renshaw joins us on the phone! He talks us through the biggest scalps he has taken bowling his part time offies—some of the names will shock you—his job as the Queensland Cricket Horticulturist and the way to ensure you are successful at your company’s annual golf day.  Listen in to find out about Renners ambition to be on Burke's Backyard, which house he would be in if he went to Hogwarts, retiring ill due to unfortunate bowel movements and so much more. He might even be the youngest person to have a knee reconstruction… although that wasn’t very well researched. Also listen out for some of the sneaky barbs thrown in Marnus' direction before they clash on the cricket field tomorrow! Make sure you get your ears around this one and if you like it don’t be afraid to share it with a friend! 16. Warner Back to His Best and the Junction Oval Toaster Issue Addressed

50m · Published 30 Oct 04:25

Welcome to Episode 16, the first Podcast of Season 2! Cricket season is already here after a T20 International at Adelaide Oval last weekend. We talk WBBL, Marsh Cup and Sheffield Shield. 15. Luke Feldman Calls In, World Cup Tipping with Skin and the Fake Six Again

1h 16m · Published 08 Oct 07:57

Episode 15 is the final episode of Season 1 and it utilises the services of recently retired and much loved Queensland Bulls paceman Luke Feldman. Luke joins us on the phone with a cricket game blaring in the background which provides plenty of highlights. He tells stories, provides commentary and even speaks about some cricket. For the neutral viewer though, the highlight is his roasting of co-host Sam Heazlett. These two have played many years of cricket together and Luke has stored some of his finest barbs for this very interview!

We then talk about the much maligned referees and their crucial decisions from the NRL Grand Final. We feature another song about Redlands stalwart Nick Hurford and Jasper attempts to dethrone Skin as the Podcast's number one rapper. There is plenty of arrogance, random chat and some of your favourite segments with "Skins Stats", "Social Sin Bin" and "Overused Sporting Buzzphrases" all getting a look in. Thank you for listening and we will return in a couple of weeks!

14. What Does Jack Lukosius Cook, Giants Absolutely Shook and Refereeing By the Book

1h 4m · Published 01 Oct 08:30

Episode 14 and in a Podcast first we have two people on the phone at once! One is Sam Heazlett who is churning runs in the Marsh Cup currently; the other is even more exciting (sorry Haz) as Jack Lukosius from the Gold Coast Suns joins us to try and educate Haz on AFL and relive his memories of bowling heat as a gun junior cricketer!

We chat Brownlow medal, AFL Grand Final, Haz previews the NRL Grand Final—he sits on the fence for some more ruling interpretations—and provides an in depth look at all the action from the Preliminary-finals. The Rugby World Cup presents some controversial decisions and Mitch is so pumped with his Skin’s Stats predictions that he spends the whole episode placing bets. We opened some discussion points to the Instagram Poll and as a result we talk Touch Football, UFC and Rock-climbing. As per usual thank you to our sponsors .... (insert fictional name here)... Listen out for Bazley's AFL fantasy result somehow getting mentioned again. Enjoy!

13. Leigh is in the Snow, Domestic Cricket on Show and the Freshwater Pro

1h 4m · Published 24 Sep 07:55

Episode 13 sees Mitch and Sam take the reins as Leigh is on a Snow Trip. Truth be told, we manage to get Leigh on the phone, so you still get to hear him talk about his dismissals so far this cricket season. The Australian Women’s Cricket Team are jets, and the Marsh One-Day Cup has started, so Haz comes straight from playing a game to help us chat cricket—although gets stuck talking about his social media fame after hitting a massive six for quite some time!

We check in with how Skin’s previous predictions for the Rugby World Cup are travelling—you may recall the spreadsheet—and there is a result that will shock you. Leigh and Haz argue about the NRL Sin Bin and we get the standard surfing wrap for a Sam Heazlett episode including looking ahead to the Olympics!

Can Mitch push the buttons better than Leigh? Will Leigh ever get his seat back? You be the judge!

12. Mackenzie Sadler's Rugby & Touch Blend, Toby Greene at it Again, Lions and Broncos Season Ends

1h 9m · Published 16 Sep 20:16

Episode 12 and we have Mackenzie Sadler on the phone to discuss the opening round of the AON Uni 7s Tournament. She talks through the structure, blows up about how she had the captaincy taken from her the year after winning the competition (totally joking... we blew up about it!) and explains her reasoning for jumping from Touch Football to Rugby 7s.

Joey Leilua's fireworks mishap ensures Toby Greene's fingers weren't the only thing attacking eyes over the weekend; the NSW Swifts claim a Grand Final victory and the Boomers miss out on Bronze. Leigh, Mitch and James chat through these topics but then also answer the big questions: Was Charlie Cameron fair game, why do we love Esava Ratugolea and what is Bazley's big piece of news? Tune in and see!

11. Nic Nat Goes Whack, Andrew Gode's on the Phone; One Little Urn is Coming Home

1h 11m · Published 10 Sep 14:07

They speak to one of Queensland Premier Cricket's gun players, Andrew Gode about his own performances, his thoughts on playing against Leigh and his love for the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

'Sam's Spam' is the new segment debuted where listeners grill Heazlett with the tough questions, the eye gouging and hair pulling incidents across the weekend are firmly in the spotlight and the Social Sin Bin takes aim at multiple former English Cricketers!
