Late one night in the spring of 1937, a young woman stumbled into her apartment building, drunk after a long night of partying with friends. One summer day in 1978, a man came home from work to his house in a nice neighborhood in Illinois. At around 9:00 PM on September 13th, 2006, a college student walked towards her friend’s apartment in the small town of Valley City, North Dakota. She walked up the steps and was about to knock on her friend's door, when she was hit with this really powerful chemical smell. She looked around wondering where the smell was coming from, and that's when she realized it was coming from her friend's apartment.
