When Things Seem To Get Worse Than Better

23m · Published 08 Jul 12:00

As a Christian, have you ever felt ashamed for wanting to see a therapist?
You are not the only one! In this episode, I will share my experience of attending therapies to deal with my inner pain.

Many times we think that because we are Christian individuals or Public Figures, it is not right to want to seek a therapist. It is time to change that mentality and to take care of our emotional health. Many of you have been hurt emotionally and physically by people. Remember that you must give a voice to your pain!

There are internal wounds and traumatic events that you have been dealing with for years. You can’t pretend that it is in the past and you have moved on when in reality it still hurts when it comes to mind. You need to let God heal your heart by allowing pain to resurface and have the courage to confront it.

One of the most beautiful things that we have experienced as a married couple while attending Christian therapy has been the level of closeness within our marriage. See my husband hesitated to the idea of joining me for therapy. However, we were able to enter into a new level of intimacy.

Powerful tips when attending therapy as a married couple:

[04:30] You must let the pain come out. If you submerge pain for a while, it can come out like a flow.

[16:06] There is a level of intimacy and vulnerability in the marriage.

[17:15] Perfect love without judgment will emerge. Keep in mind that you can’t judge each other for the way of processing pain.

[22:04] Things become healed when you allow it to come to the surface. You must have the courage to confront and the courage to push through.

The Grace to Pioneer

28m · Published 25 Mar 17:29

Starting something new in your life will always make you feel unsure and uncomfortable. And yet somehow, you know that you are being called to a new thing!

You know it deep inside of you, in the midst of fear and hesitation, it is an undeniable assurance that it is time to leave the old and move into the new.

Be the one who puts action to that feeling and runs with it! Maybe you feel to go after that master’s degree that no one else in your family has. Maybe you are the only one in your group of friends who feels to start their own business. Maybe you have already told your loved ones of your dreams and you are not getting the support and validation you seek.

Most pioneers don’t. Not everyone sees what you see for your future or feels what you do in your heart.
This is not the time to follow the instruction of those who do not believe in you. It is a road not traveled by many, so pioneering can be lonely. It will have you wondering what the journey may look like.

Where do you get trustworthy guidance from? What do I do when things aren’t turning out as planned?
I will share with you my journey to pioneering a six-figure business and the experiences I had along the way.
Be sure to take down these 4 tips on how to pioneer a new shift in your life. I know it will help you!

The Road to Having the Grace to Pioneer:

[2:16] Realize that you will be frustrated. Nothing great happens without their first being a frustration. This is where major push and motivation for change comes from.

[8:20] You will be stretched out of your comfort zone! No one else around you is doing what you do. Being the first in anything means you will abandon all comfort. This is not as negative as it may sound.

[15:09] You will experience warfare. The enemy is intimidated by those who have the boldness to rise up and make a difference in their personal lives, family, community, and world! He will send discouragement, weariness, fear, doubt and more to keep you from breaking through. Now that you know, you can fight back when these kinds of feelings come.

[21:22] You will leave an impact and a legacy. Pioneers leave clues to their success. One day you will be leaving clues for someone else!

The Uncommon Wife

35m · Published 20 Mar 16:46

If you want to have an uncommon marriage, you need to be an uncommon wife.

While most people think marriage solves problems, more often than not it will require you to confront your heart, character, and behavior. Whether you are a young couple or have been married for some time, dealing with your spouse will always pose a challenge.

I know for me, the beginning of my marriage forced me to take a look in the mirror and do a self-evaluation. Trust me, it was not pretty. Without knowing it, many times we come to marriage with baggage that has not been dealt with.

For those who are not yet at this stage, singlehood is the perfect opportunity to prepare to be the best wife you can be for your husband and get ahead in maturity, understanding and personal liberty.

I can only imagine how much pain I could have been saved from if I had just taken the time to focus on the state of my soul before entering marriage.

This painful process showed me what I was doing wrong and what I needed to do to make a complete turnaround and have the marriage God destined for me to enjoy.

Marriage is one of the most important ministries to God for a reason. There is a power and a purpose for your marriage, you just need to discover it! You can have a blissful, loving and God-centered marriage.

The key is your mindset. I am going to let you in on the intimate struggles of my marriage. You and your spouse are made for greatness, do you believe it?

3 Keys to Being an Uncommon Wife:

  1. [13:38] Heal internally. Most of the time, the issues that trigger us most in marriage are directly related to issues in our past that were never fully dealt with.

  2. [18:09] Get an uncommon revelation of who you are and who your husband is. The word says your value is compared to rubies. That means you are priceless and special. You need to change how you see yourself first and realize who your husband is, beyond what you may see now.

  3. [24:45] Realize that you need uncommon humility. This is necessary to take down your defensive walls and pride. Walls are meant to separate. This cannot be present in restoring and getting ready for an uncommon marriage.

2 Things I Implemented to Build a 6 Figure Business Online

38m · Published 12 Mar 12:00

Let me paint a picture for you. Imagine yourself waking up on a bright morning where the schedule for the day is fun and relaxation. No clocking into your job, no one-hour lunch break, and absolutely no stress! Instead, today you will go out, get some sun and enjoy the fresh air.

This portrait may seem simple, but how often do you get a day like this in the week? If you are tied to a nine to five job, it is probably very rare.

Think about the last time you were able to treat yourself and spend quality time with your family without worrying about how much lunch or a trip would cost. Or when the last time you were able to take time off from work to attend all your kids' school activities and being there with them every step of the way.

If you were anything like I was 7 years ago, this was unreachable.
I have been there. I know what it feels like to see your paycheck diminish after paying all the bills and expenses, being left with crumbs to hold you until the next payday. Can I tell you that you are more than just a mediocre routine? You are capable of major financial gains that will allow you to enjoy time with your loved ones and get your life back!

One of the main frustrations I faced in working for a company was that I felt as though I was never building anything of my own. A major benefit of building your own business is that you will leave a legacy for your family to build upon. Starting from your shoulders.
This all sounds great, doesn’t it? Question is, where do you start? Your path may be different than my own, but I guarantee my two strategies will help you along the way. It’s time to get your life back and build something of your own!

Two Strategies for Building Your Business Online:

  1. [16:05] Change your mindset. Perspective and outlook change everything. The transition to an employee to an employer is a huge leap for some people to ever consider for themselves! Pick any successful business owners mind and you will see that they have no cap to the possibility of growth.

  2. [26:11] Implementing a premium experience. This means premium customer service that gives your customer an experience. This calls for going above and beyond for your clients. This is a part of building your business into a premium brand name.

Impacting Millions with Your Unique Story

28m · Published 06 Mar 21:53

You are special, unique, extravagant and everything about you, down to the details, make you unlike anyone else on this planet. Considering that there are 7 billion people on earth, that is saying something! And it is true.

God does not make copies. You are a masterpiece, formed by the greatest artist ever known. The same goes for your personal story. The world is waiting to connect with someone just like you.

In this episode, I want to encourage you to use your voice and tell your story because it will make all the difference to millions. I know that this can seem easier said than done. With some training and practice, you can master this skill and begin touching lives all around the world.

The first challenge is to get the boldness to share your story. The second challenge is on mastering how to tell your message to others in an impactful way. You already know your story is unique, now you just need to know how to make it memorable and easy to understand.

Here I will teach you how to tell your story in the most skillful way possible, to truly make your amazing story connect in a lasting way with others. I have three tips that you do not want to miss!

How to Tell your Unique Story to Others:

[15:08] Create your content. This means, write down the details of your testimony on paper and think it through. If you have never done this before, chances are you missed some powerful details that you forgot about!

[16:43] Learn the art of telling your story. You should be able to tell your complete unique story in five minutes. Yes, I said five minutes. This always calls for learning to refine your voice. This will take practice because not everyone knows how to control their pitch, tone, and diction.

[21:43] Copywriting. Find your unique voice via words. This can be done through writing, books, ads, emails and more. This goes along with perfecting your niche.

Episode 6: How to Heal from Mother Wounds

42m · Published 26 Feb 21:30

Back in another episode, we are talking about mother wounds. Wounds can run deep and unseen. They have aftereffects, trauma, and pain. A mother is one of the most important figures in your life, which is why wounds in this area hurt the most.

No matter how tumultuous your relationship, the wounds between a mother and child can be restored. You may think your case is the exception, but that’s not true.

Even with all the hurt, the good news is that wounds can be healed! Here, I take you through my story of the relationship I had with my mother before she passed away. Trust me, it was not cute mom and daughter lunch dates. I went through my own personal journey of internal healing and restoration. The key point to remember here is that no mother is perfect.

Let me help teach you how to get on the road to healing, freedom and joy. I am going to take my mask off, in hopes that you are encouraged to do the same.

Healing Mother Wounds:

  1. [6:25] Go back to the place of pain. The root of all your pain and trauma cannot be dealt with until you confront the memories and origins of where it all began. The first step is always the one people want to skip, when it in fact is the step that will ensure your healing.

  2. [7:15] Forgive yourself for making mistakes. Just as there is no perfect mother, there is no perfect daughter. Consider how your own actions or behavior may have added unto strains in your mother-daughter relationship. After this, recognize, learn, rectify and grow from those mistakes!

  3. [12:10] Apologize. Mothers and daughters. You could be one apology away from restoring your relationship! Do not allow pride to get in the way of restoration.

  4. [26:53] Admit that you needed a mother and maybe still do. If you have gone a long time without the active positive presence of your mother, you may tell yourself that you do not need her. That your life is perfectly fine without her. Deep in your heart you need to acknowledge that this is not true. Every mother has something to offer you. Find those pearls and extract what you can.

  5. [34:25] Do not be consumed with what your mother is not. Instead remember what she is. Maybe your mother is not affectionate, but she taught you how to cook and clean. You might not have had the bonding experience of baking together, but because of her wisdom in the kitchen, you know to cook delicious meals. Focus on all the good.

Episode 5: How to Heal from Father Wounds

27m · Published 19 Feb 17:10

There is a kind of pain that exists which cannot be seen on the surface but can still be felt deeply.

Sometimes wounds aren’t as obvious as people think. Unseen pain will always be more hurtful and damaging than the pain that is obvious because unseen pain cannot be easily diagnosed. It is only until you go deeper, that you discover where the true pain is coming from.

Today I am talking about father wounds. The lack of a father figure in your life will affect you in ways you may not even consider. You may think your lonely or angry behavior is just a part of your personality when in reality, it could be directly connected to the father wounds you carry deep inside you.

Fathers bring safety, identity, and affirmation. The lack of a father brings forth loneliness, fear, paranoia, and insecurity. It will make you want attention from anyone. Even more, if you feel bitterness or unforgiveness towards your father, you are still carrying pain.

This is not a type of pain which time heals. Ignoring it will not help.

Can I humbly offer a solution to you? God, as the best Father, can heal you. He is a Father that has always loved you unconditionally and will never wish any evil towards you. The only action needed is to receive his love. However, to do so restoration is necessary.
Why? Because of the lack of a biological father makes it hard to receive your spiritual Father.

If you do not deal with your father wounds, you will continue to be bound by the pain this wound causes and fear is not the will of God for your life! He wants you to live in peace. He wants you to have a whole, healed heart. A joyful spirit.

This process is not easy, but if you allow God to do a work inside of your heart, I know you will begin to walk a life of liberty.

Here are the steps I took in healing that I hope help you as well.

[4:50] Open up to the place of pain. Wounds do not go away and heal by just ignoring it. You have to look at the place of pain, no matter how ugly, and face it head-on.

[14:43] Be delivered. This calls for deliverance from fear. More importantly, a spirit most people do not realize hides behind fear. Rejection.

[18:05] Receive the spirit of adoption. Receiving the love of the Father means you will receive all that your natural father has been unable to provide. This does not mean that your natural father does not have something to offer you of value.

[20:17] Know that God is the best Father. He can restore all the damage that not having the biological father that you need has done to you. Release the pain and receive His love and goodness.

Romans 8:15

Episode 4: How to Stand Out in a Saturated Market

28m · Published 12 Feb 13:33

Welcome to another episode of The Amanda Ferguson Show! I have fielded a lot of questions surrounding the topic centered around standing out in a saturated market.

In this episode, I want to share the secret in making your business stand out from the rest. Let me share with you how your uniqueness in God can help you be different in a copy cat world.

We discuss the use of social media and how to make a genuine connection with people.

I’ll also talk about my Feminine Woman Academy. God is truly doing great things in the lives of my students. When God tells you to do something, you must trust and not second guess it.

2 tips on how to stand out in a saturated market:

  1. [6:08] One of my secret tips is being vulnerable. It helps people to see that you’re a real person. People can’t relate to a perfect person. Your audience must relate to you.

  2. [22:08] My second tip is connectivity. We live in a world where everybody wants to be connected. Connect with people genuinely!

Episode 3: Worship is my Warfare

29m · Published 07 Feb 15:06

Have you felt that your armor is worn out from fighting against the darkness? In this episode, I would encourage you to become a woman of worship more so than a woman of warfare.

Worship is a powerful and unique weapon of war in the spiritual realm. There is a shift in the atmosphere when we seek and worship Him for who He truly is. This equips us to fight against the enemy with God’s mighty power and presence.

I want to share some of my practices when it comes to waiting on the Lord and ultimately entering into His mighty presence. It is crucial to remember that God will handle all things that concern His children.

Allow me to teach you about embracing trials and tribulations to become a victorious child of God.

4 principles of using worship as a weapon of warfare:

  1. [5:50] Be rooted and grounded in the Word of God. This is how we can stay strong and fight against the wilds of the enemy.

  2. [7:47] Rest and wait upon the Lord. You must expect that God will take care of you and never react to the problem.

  3. [14:25] You must crave the presence of the Lord. If you have not craved God’s presence is because you haven’t been putting in the time to seek Him.

  4. [21:00] Acknowledge that God is the Almighty and Sovereign over any situation.
