Dr. Michael Hartle is not only a chiropractic physician, but he is also a board-certified Clinical Nutritionist (DACBN), a Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP), a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), a Master SFG Instructor with StrongFirst, and an Active Release Technique (ART) provider since 1995.

A nationally-ranked powerlifter, who has won several national titles with USA Powerlifting, Dr. Michael is also the Chairman of the Sports Medicine Committee of USA Powerlifting (USAPL). He was the Head Coach of the USAPL World Bench Press Team for eight years, winning the 2004 World Championship Team Title. His best competition lifts are 705lb squat, 535lb bench press, and 635lb deadlift with a best combined total of the three lifts of 1,840lbs in the 275lb weight class.

In this episode, Thomas is joined by Dr. John Belovich from Optimum Performance Chiropractic and Rehabilitation in Saint Louis.  Dr. Belovich graduated from Logan University in 2019 and started his private practice in 2021.

Dr. Belovich takes us through the diagnosis of Femoroacetabular Impingement (FAI), his personal experience with bilateral FAI and his journey from surgery back to lifting weights.

S2E8: Conversations with a Neuroscientist: Adaptive Populations and Training

In this episode, Thomas is joined by PhD student Janette Hynes from the University of Auburn. Janette holds a Masters Degree in Kinesiology with a special interest for individuals with disabilities and is currently enrolled at the University of Auburn pursuing her PhD in Kinesiology with a special interest identifying exercise interventions for adaptive individuals. 

Janette is also an adaptive CrossFit coach and research collaborator at the Adaptive Training Academy and is working on their newest certification, which she will be talking more about in this episode.
