Interview with Dr. Daniel Banks - Hip Hop Theatre, spirituality, economics and healing.

The Future Creatives Podcast https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/future-creatives/id1501010203

Daniel Banks is an award winning theatre director, facilitator and educator and he is one of the pioneers of Hip Hop Theatre and former faculty member at Tisch School of the arts at NYU where he headed up the Hip Hop Theatre Programme.  He’s a published author several times over, and one of the books we’re talking about today is Say Word Voices from Hip Hop Theatre. Co Director and Co-founder of DNA Works based in Fort Worth Texas You’re in for a treat as we talk ritual theatre through Hip Hop, new models of creating and distributing performing arts work and the difficulties venues are facing.  Even in 2015 we could see the fragility of the most recent funding and distribution model for the arts. It always has been, we’ve gone along with the illusion that it worked rather than disrupt it and make it work for the many not the few.  Hope you enjoy, don’t forget to subscribe, like and share.  #hiphoptheatre #hiphoptheatrefestival #dnaworks #theculturalassembly #folded.space #deconalize #nyu #rennieharrispuremovement #gemmahoddy #artists4artists #sadlerswells #kamilahforbes #hollybass #sayword #dannyhock #teocastellanos #danielbanks #angelakariotis #willpower #ebonihogan #abiolawendy #yuribasholane #joehernandez-kolski #antoygrant #gabrieldionisio #kristofferdiaz #vanessahidary #archiemfonekong #babaisrael #kwesijohnson
