Diagnosed and undiagnosed ADHD.

ADHD - Ezrick Jason, and Kye

The ADHD Academic @theADHDacademic

“Sometimes #ADHD isn't just having too many tabs open in your brain and not knowing where the music is coming from. It can also be having too many tabs open and they're all loading, so you're stuck with too much and too little at the same time.”

ADHD is a chronic condition including attention difficulty, hyperactivity, and impulsiveness.

ADHD often begins in childhood and can persist into adulthood. It may contribute to low self-esteem, troubled relationships, and difficulty at school or work.

Symptoms include limited attention and hyperactivity.

The main signs of inattentiveness are

Do you have a short attention span and or are you easily distracted

Do you make careless mistakes – for example, in schoolwork

Do you appear forgetful or do you lose things

Are you unable to stick to tasks that are tedious or time-consuming

Do you appear to be unable to listen to or carry out instructions

Are you constantly changing activity or task

Do you have difficulty organizing tasks

The main signs of hyperactivity and impulsiveness are:

Are you unable to sit still, especially in calm or quiet surroundings

Are you constantly fidgeting

Are you unable to concentrate on tasks

Are you prone to excessive physical movement

excessive talking

Are you unable to wait their turn

Do you act without thinking

Do you find yourself

interrupting conversations

Do you have little or no sense of danger

Related conditions in children and teenagers with ADHD

Anxiety disorder

which causes your child to worry and be nervous much of the time; it may also cause physical symptoms, such as a rapid heartbeat, sweating and dizziness

oppositional defiant disorder (ODD)

this is defined by negative and disruptive behavior, particularly towards authority figures, such as parents and teachers

conduct disorder

this often involves a tendency towards highly antisocial behavior, such as stealing, fighting, vandalism and harming people or animals

depression

sleep problems

finding it difficult to get to sleep at night, and having irregular sleeping patterns

autistic spectrum disorder (ASD)

this affects social interaction, communication, interests and behavior

epilepsy – a condition that affects the brain and causes repeated fits or seizures

Tourette's syndrome

a condition of the nervous system, characterized by a combination of involuntary noises and movements (tics)

learning difficulties – such as dyslexia

Related conditions in adults with ADHD

personality disorders

conditions in which an individual differs significantly from the average person in terms of how they think, perceive, feel or relate to others

bipolar disorder

a condition affecting your mood, which can swing from one extreme to another

obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)

a condition that causes obsessive thoughts and compulsive behavior

Depression

The behavioral problems associated with ADHD can also cause problems such as difficulties with relationships and social interaction.

ADHD doesn't disappear

just because symptoms become less obvious—its effect on the brain lingers.” Some adults who had milder symptom levels of ADHD as children may have developed coping skills that address their symptoms well enough to prevent ADHD from interfering with their daily lives.

Is ADHD a form of autism?

Autism spectrum disorder and ADHD are related in several ways. ADHD is not on the autism spectrum, but they have some of the same symptoms. And having one of these conditions increases the chances of having the other.

I Think You Need To Let Me Learn You Something

Hey, and hello, welcome back to Inspirations Beyond Disabilities. Xhy, Ezrick, and Jason are joined by the other Katlynn. Katlynn Goodsell is a social media influencer, and a proud member of the TicTok vip Community;

 https://vm.tiktok.com/TTPdB4knRV/

In this Very special very lengthy episode Ezrick wanted to discuss dating as a visually impaired individual, and as always the insights offered fare exceeded visual impairments and became as usual, just folks taking about the same things that matter either in a relationship, friendship, community member, or inspiration. Relationships take effort, communication, compassion, and a understanding of the ego.

Xhy in a committed relationship, Katlynn in a new relationship, Ezrick still neck deep in the dating pool, and jason retired, bring their individual understandings and perspectives to the table to begin that discussion. Dating is hard. How can we all come together knowing that it is going to be. and what skills have this group used or found useful in their journeys toward better relationships.

It’s My Guide Dog And I’ll Cry If I Want To - Bella Is Back!

Bella (My.Eyes.Ohara) is back with Xhy, Jay,and Ezrick, to continue the discussion started in our last episode. Thank you for listening and sharing. Guide dogs are a freedom that blind folks are offered to sublimant the limited vision, if any we might have. They are not a luxury, not a spirit animal, not optional. Our guide dogs are by law medical equipment. Accepting intolerance is unacceptable but to often over looked.

That is why these episodes are so important. Learning about a situation ahead of time leaves us all informed when confronted with a situation. Please offer any human the personal space and freedoms we all deserve, and please offer that same respect to your blind and visually impaired brothers sisters and nonbinary neighbors. Addressing someones guide dog in a direct manner is poor manners. inappropriate and extremely dangerous. Distracting a guide dog is like blinding someone depending on what that dog is seeing. All of this and more is explained through real honest conversation you can listen to and relate with. #BeingBlind2021 is simply another way of living surviving and thriving. Coming soon #BeingBlind2022
