The Mind Races (Poem by Mason Muldoon)

2m · Life Lessons With Mason · 15 May 23:47

The mind races Races with hope Races with fear Confusion enters the brain Thousands of ways to perceive any event Which is the correct one Who am I What do I care about What do I enjoy Why So many questions Where do I go from here It's never enough In a world with everything at my fingertips I struggle to reach out and grab it I want to be more I envy I progress I degress I regress Two steps forward One step back Two steps forward again The constant battle of life Can be simple Can be complicated That's up to the mind Things don't need to be this hard We made it already So much freedom So much opportunity Love and joy so easily accessible It's everywhere I look But my vision is blurred I squint hard I squint so hard Searching for what will make me be enough I try to juggle it all All the pieces to puzzle I can only juggle so much The thoughts jump Jump from one idea to the next Unorganized Unfinished The river of thoughts Always flowing What's my purpose What's a life It's all a game A game to get ahead To be better To move up We strive to be special For what This I do not know It won't end And I don't want it to Because that's the beauty of it That's what keeps us going A wonderful mind it is
