Boundaries around Social Media and Sharing
Boundaries are important to express and understand our needs as well as being respectful in understanding the needs of others. Here are some ways of modeling healthy boundaries with children in daily activities. Boundaries around taking pictures/posting them (With the growth in social media, many people post and share pictures of themselves, their children and others without seeking consent) Being mindful of creating your child’s digital footprint. Let them decide for themselves what information they like being shared. Check before posting pictures of other people and or their kids to make sure they are okay. Request others not to post pictures of yourself or your children without your consent. Teach children to ask others how their pictures will be used and for what purpose.
