As a black woman, she has faith and authenticity to herself and the people around her. When I first met Denicia, I noticed on her wall, there were so many appreciation cards from her students, family, and friends. She told me that we are the ones to create our own world and hers is definitely full of gratefulness. As a woman, Denicia never surrenders to social limitations and even she failed, she always has the courage to stand up and fight again. Which made her one of our best role models.
