Episode 4: Marijuana Legalization and The MORE Act
In our fourth episode, we discuss Representative Jerry Nadler's Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and expungement Act of 2019 or The MORE Act (H.R. 3884). This bill would decriminalize marijuana by removing marijuana from the list of scheduled substances under the Controlled Substances Act. Additionally, this bill would expunge federal marijuana convictions and arrests. Lastly, it would provide funds, via tax, for social programs aimed at helping those communities most affected by the War on Drugs. In our third episode, we discuss Senator Rand Paul's Unplug the Internet Kill Switch Act of 2020 (S.4646). This bill would repeal war powers of the President that were originally introduced in 1934.
