The One About Turning Pain, Grief and Loss into Something Beautiful with Destiny Zaremba

Destiny shares how getting dressed led her to practice more gratitude, self compassion and deal with grief/loss. She shares her mental health journey and how therapy has benefited her. She also discusses how she used her pain to birth her company Honey and Lemon.

Destiny Zaremba is the owner and founder of Honey and Lemon, a company that empowers women to feel good in clothing. She has been married to her husband Michael since 2010. They share 3 beautiful girls together Mia 12, Madison 9 and Maxine who is here with us in spirit. She was born and raised in Riverside CA before moving to San Bernardino at age 9. This is the same year she met her husband. As a young woman she has faced many challenges, from dysfunctional family dynamics, job loss, bankruptcy, pregnancy loss, and loss of close family members both physically and emotionally. Depression and anxiety were taking over her life and she wasn't the woman she was capable of being.  With the encouragement from her husband, something as little as getting dressed gave her the power and confidence to work through these losses. She came to realize that she had to take care of herself from the inside out, to bring out her potential. Slowly as she committed to getting dressed daily, she noticed the impact it had on her energy level, confidence, and willingness to be present. Each day that she got dressed an emotional shift started to take place in herself and in her home. She was more patient and loving with her husband and children because she felt good about herself! With the realization that there was a direct connection to a woman's confidence and the mood in the home, she felt inspired to share this respite with the world, and boom... Honey and Lemon was born. Just as we take Honey and Lemon to cure the common cold, she felt there was a need for women to put on clothing and have the opportunity to be a part of a culture and community that was healing as well. Although mental health is a journey and there is no one size fits all approach, It's her belief that something as little as getting dressed can give women that little boost of energy that makes them feel good and more energized to do life.

For more information she can be reached at [email protected] or on Instagram and Facebook @honeyandlemonclothing
