Lady Dan

This week, we're heading stateside and speaking to the lovely Lady Dan aka Tyler Dozier.

The warmth of the Texan-based artist is mirrored in her music, which is a gorgeous blend of indie and folk - creating a sound of country music with a modern twist. This is paired with her intimate lyrics that are littered with poetic imagery and Biblical allusions - 'I am the Prophet Turning Water into Wine' - which highlight some of her personal experiences with religion and the church through her skilled songwriting. Featured in the likes of Line of Best Fit, Gold Flake Paint, and Honey Punch Mag the self-confessed 'Melancholic Cowboy' is putting out her debut album on April 23rd, 'I am the Prophet' a stirring, sincere 11-track piece.

In this episode we discuss storytelling and why music is the perfect medium for getting your story out there, the importance of who we keep around us, and why right now felt like the best time to get her album out.

Follow her on Instagram @UncleBeerCan and listen to the single "I Am the Prophet". Her album of the same name is out 23 April via Earth Libraries.

The Elder Island sound is an effortless blend of diverse genre's.
