La poussière de fibre de coco se dégrade si lentement qu’elle est souvent considérée inutile pour l’agriculture. Mais la poussière-fibre bien décomposée peut absorber cinq fois son poids en eau. Ainsi lorsqu’elle est appliquée à votre sol, elle peut retenir l’eau beaucoup mieux. Pour préparer du compost à base de poussière-fibre, vous devez laisser la lignine se décomposer. Les microorganismes peuvent y contribuer.
