35. Engage, Educate, Empower - Coach Ali Speechly

1h 5m · Life, Leadership & the Pursuit of Greatness · 28 Jun 15:13

The first time our podcast has taken us over The Pond! We are thrilled to share an hour with English Football (not American Football, think soccer) Coach Ali Speechly. She speaks truth into the beautiful game and how it has evolved slower than she would like to incorporate more females into the game. She has coached youth professional teams in the UK, but is currently a youth Grassroots Club coach. Her message of engage, educate and empower is driven by her desire to help young females to believe that with hard work and a positive attitude, [girls] are capable of anything! Life has a way of taking us into our passions, and Coach Ali never planned to be a soccer coach, but her story is powerful and her mantra of "If she can see, she can be it" is one you need to hear. What does it mean to be authentic and how we can be better at it? What stereotypes of women are holding the sport back? How do you engage different learners to be their best? Tune in for this incredible hour to get answers to all these questions and more! You can find Coach Ali on Twitter @_CoachAli_.  --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/lifeleadpg/support

So you got the job...Now what?!

Today, Coach Matthess and Coach Lovell get back together after a 995 day hiatus. Life has changed for us both since we had our last podcast, but we are both excited to share this message with you. We break down how coaches can approach the opportunity to be a head coach. Before the interview and once you get the job are two different things; however, they are both important. Sometimes just getting the job isn't enough, you need to do your homework before you apply and you need to be ready to set the tone once you get the job. Take a listen.

If you have something to add, we'd love to hear from you!

Duane and Tim
