Candid Chats with my husband

52m · Schooling You: Candid Chats about Education · 18 Aug 21:35

This episode I was interviewed by my spouse/partner Travis.  We talked about my educational experience, where my passion comes from, and why I want to do this podcast. This episode is a bit different from the others as I think it's more laid-back and conversational rather than an interview style.

Candid Chats with: Jorge Pacheco Jr.

In this episode I chat with Jorge Pacheco Jr.

He was born and raised in San Jose and has continued to live and work in the same school district  that failed him years ago.

In this episode we chat about the discrimination he faced as a Latino when he first entered school in Kindergarten and how that shaped him into the passionate  educator he is today.  We also chat about his campaign for the school board, and being involved politically,  being a LGBTQ+ educator and being open with your students, as well as what his district is planning for COVID-19.

Candid Chats with: Stephanie Rylee

Stephanie has been my boss, mentor, and  most importantly my friend.

We worked together at a K-2 school before she moved and has been working as a resource teacher for fifth grade.

We talk about struggling in class growing up,  taking care of your mental health, and responding to COVID-19.
