Child Obesity And Pregnancy Weight Gain | BIGLEE PODCAST

We have already seen about obesity in adults.

Its time to take it back to childhood to see and fix the problem in better ways

Children see their parents and take them for role models and that is how they form habits.

Sadly the junk food snack eating habits are obtained from them.

There were many studies done on low fat approach and calorie cutting approach done on children and none proved to be effective.

Finally in 2004 The AUSTRALIAN UNIVERSITY DID THE ROMP AND CHOMP STUDY.

The study used 12000 childres of ages between 0 and 5 years old

the study was divided to two groups.

one group was not given any restriction

The control group was given the following two important restrictions

1. Decrease the amount of sugary drinks and replace with water and milk

2. Eliminate snacks and introduce the habit of eating fruits and vegetables.

In 2004 it was found that the control group had significatly decreased the obesity markers by upto 3 % which was a huge number

In Northern England they conducted the " DITCH THE FIZZ"initiative

the slogan was simple. - stop having carbonated sugary drinks.

On an average each participating child was able to reduce 150ml of fizz drink per day

By end of the study - the kids who ditched fizz were able to reduce obesity by 0.75% in a short term study and the group which did not restrict fizz increased obesity markers by 7.5 percentage.

The study teaches us an important thing about dealing with child obesity

* we can not tax our children in the name of diet - they would miserably fail

* rather inroduce good eating habits in place of bad ones and choose one habit and eliminate one habit at a time. This way our success rate will be much higher

Lets go a step further - women during pregnancy have tendency to gain weight. but the processed food frenzy makes them gain too much weight due to which they suffer

* excessive weight gain

* gestational obesity

* gestational diabetes

how does this affect the child

* It was found in a study that childres gain more weight when mom gains too much weight and are bone with more fat mass

* chinlren born in these condition are 3 times more prone to obesity and diabetes when they grow.

We want our younger ones to be super healthy and happy in their lives. so lets make sure we fix the issue at the root cause.

Six Pack Secrets Revealed - BIGLEE

When it comes to six pack or tummy fat, every one has these common questions

First of all we will break this video into segments

Segment 1 - What is six pack?

Rectus abdominis  is a single muscle with multiple folds based on the nature of adaptations your ancestors had for their occupation. Everyone has this muscle, just that it is covered by a layer of fat or more.   

Segment 2 - fat loss 

We have pattern fat in our body that makes fat gain first in the mid section, that means that will be the last place to lose fat.  So you need to be consistent on your fat loss plan longer to get rid of the abdominal fats  

Segment 3 - workout and diet 

It is sensible to restrict carbs to breakfast and around workout alone. Eat more protein and veggies in all your other meals to accelerate fat loss Workout - along with a well balanced whole body workout routine and cardio - train your abs thrice a week  Hanging leg raise in my opinion is the best ab builder there is.   


You need to follow the diet and workout pattern at least 90 % even after getting six pack. Cos what got you there is needed to keep you in that position.  Dot hog on food like your life depends on it and lose the hard earned six pack in few days of foolish eating. Make workout and mindful eating your lifestyle. Stay fit and healthy for life.
