Episode 21 Alastair Jolly Lets talk SmugMug and Flickr
Alastair Jolly used to be a full time Wedding Photographer for 16 years, then left the industry, over 8 years ago, to take on the role of Global Marketing Manager for SmugMug, the very well known software company that provides website building and hosting services for Photographers and creatives.
A couple of years ago SmugMug purchased, or saved as Alastair liked to put it, the very well known photo social and sharing site Flickr.
Wayne and Jake dive a little into Alastair’s life as a photographer, we find out if being Scottish means you naturally like whisky, but we really get stuck into the world of SmugMug and Flickr.
Alastair tells us that both platforms are certainly very different and both offer users different tools for different things, but both support and compliment each other very well.
We were interested to see what SmugMug offers its users in terms of a website building and hosting platform and how easy it can be to create a beautiful looking website to share with the world and why it’s important to have that presence, and how they incorporate a print selling service into your website, than can help increase your profits.

Greg is iconic in the portrait world and for good reason, he's certainly someone I looked up to throughout my career. A very humble and logical man with a great mind for a practical and creative approach.

Rick appreciates some of life’s little treasures like a nice hazy IPA or a good bourbon, and still has a thing for cool hot rods and low riders, well this episode is where we get down and low with the man himself.

He’s a photographer who’s won more awards than you can shake a stick at and also one of only 19 wedding photographers to achieve a Fellowship in Wedding Photography with the BIPP since 1901.
But more than all of that, he’s a damn good laugh and if you have him shoot your wedding he will cruise through the day capturing all the moments you’ve ever wanted and also the ones you didn’t realise you had.
And of course he’s a fellow Fujifilm X Ambassador like myself, so that definitely makes him a nice guy! Lol

Welcome to Episode 48, and today we’re talking with the Charismatic Lee Romney, who’s the Regional Business Development Manager for Arri here in the UK.
Now most of us know who Arri are but for those that may not be that familiar, Arri are one of the biggest Producers & providers of Lighting, Cameras, Cinema lenses & camera accessories for the still and motion picture on the planet and have been making these glorious products for over 100 years. If you watch TV or films, there’s a chance it was either lit or filmed with Arri products.
We're going to be talking about some of the Arri Lighting, Camera and accessory Products, and touch a little on their new studios...
In addition to that Arri have brought me a new piece of lighting kit that I tested nearly 2 years ago when it was still in its prototype stage. Here we have the full working production model of the Arri Orbiter, an amazing piece of lighting kit for both stills and moving image.
Now I know on occasion Lee appreciates a fine ale or two , as well as some good food to go with it, but .. the personal stuff aside this guy knows a thing or two about Arri Cameras and Lighting, despite the confused look on his face right now.
