133: Kohberger Fired For "Sexist Attitude" Towards Women | #BryanKohberger #Idahomurders

3m · Hidden Killers With Tony Brueski | True Crime News & Commentary · 08 Feb 14:34

It has been revealed that Bryan Kohberger, the person suspected of killing four students at the University of Idaho, was terminated from his position as a teaching assistant just days before he was taken into custody for the suspected murders of Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20 who, were all stabbed to death in the early hours of November 13 after Kohberger, 28, is accused of entering into a rented home in Moscow, Idaho, and murdering them all. Kohberger is 28 years old.

At the time of the deaths, Kohberger was a PhD candidate in criminology and teaching assistant at Washington State University in neighboring Pullman.

However, Kohberger had been issued multiple warnings by the university in the months leading up to his arrest, and he was officially fired from his position as a teaching assistant on December 19, according to a report that was published on Tuesday by Ashleigh Banfield of NewsNation, who cited multiple sources who requested anonymity.

According to Banfield, a letter that was handed to Kohbrger before he was dismissed indicated that he had a "sexist attitude" towards women he interacted with at the institution, that he was "rude" to women, and that he evidently rated them differently than men.

According to reports, the letter also provided a timeline of the events that led up to Kohberger's dismissal, beginning with an alleged "altercation" with a lecturer on September 23, just weeks into the job.

According to Banfield, the letter claims that Kohberger and the professor got together on October 3 to talk about "professional behavior." Banfield stated the letter makes this claim. It was then alleged that the professor sent Kohberger an email on the 21st of October to inform him that he had failed to satisfy the expectations that had been laid forth in the meeting earlier that month.

They got together once more on November 12 to talk about a "improvement plan," and then they got together once more on December 7 to talk about how well that plan was working out.

According to reports, the second confrontation took place on December 9 between Kohberger and the professor. He was officially terminated 10 days later.

SENTENCING PHASE- ID v Chad Daybell, Doomsday Prophet Murder Trial PART 1

During Friday's session, emotional testimonies from the victims' families were anticipated, aiming to provide the jury with a deeper understanding of the devastating impact of Daybell's actions. These statements are critical as they contribute to the jury's decision on the appropriate sentence for Daybell.
The courtroom heard first from Colby Ryan, Tylee's brother, who struggled through tears to convey his grief. "I will never get to see my sister grow up or achieve her dreams," he said. "She was robbed of her life, and we were robbed of her presence."
Following Colby, Larry and Kay Woodcock, JJ Vallow's grandparents, took the stand. Larry's voice shook as he described the pain of losing JJ, saying, "JJ was a light in our lives, and that light was cruelly extinguished. We will never recover from this loss."
As the day progressed, Tammy Daybell's family shared their anguish. Tammy's sister, Samantha Gwilliam, addressed the court with a mixture of sorrow and anger. "Tammy was a loving wife, mother, and sister. She deserved so much more than to be a victim of such betrayal and violence," Gwilliam stated.
The prosecution highlighted the cold and calculated nature of Daybell's actions, urging the jury to consider the maximum penalty. "Chad Daybell's crimes were premeditated and heinous. The loss felt by these families is immeasurable," said Prosecutor Rob Wood. "Justice demands that he faces the severest consequences."
Daybell's defense team sought to humanize their client, arguing that his life should be spared. "While Mr. Daybell has been convicted, he is still a father and has family who care about him. We ask the jury to consider life in prison without the possibility of parole," pleaded defense attorney John Prior.
The jury's deliberation on whether Daybell should receive a life sentence or the death penalty is expected to be intense and potentially lengthy, given the gravity of the crimes and the emotional weight of the victim impact statements.
