Among many things, today Karah and I discuss how to overcome mom overwhelm.  If you're a mom, you understand!  This is great for future moms, aunts, and anyone else too!

Karah is a mom, wife, Psychotherapist, and business owner.  Ever since a middle school collage project, she has identified that she wanted a career where she could "help others." She likely didn't know what that meant at that age, but in college went on to obtain undergraduate degrees in Human Development and Psychology and a Masters degree in Social Work. A few years later she achieved her Licensed Clinical Social Worker status so she could utilize her skills as a psychotherapist.

Karah opened up a group private practice office, Genuine Way Family Therapy.  Throughout her life she has been described as transparent, straightforward, and caring. She has worked hard to embrace these qualities and lean into them, hence the origination of Intentional Growth. She created this space to hopefully help others realize that they are not alone in their journey of life and the varying experiences and events that come with it. To normalize the truth...the hard stuff and to have discussions about items that are normally shushed away. To give you a place to grow one step at a time.

Enjoy the conversation with Karah and receive from her knowledge and goodness!

49. Your Brain is Your Super Power with Aurora Burkhart

From a young age Aurora Burkhart has always had an entrepreneur spirit. Her dad owns and operates his own business and she loved going to work with him seeing the ins and out of the operation and fell in love with the business world. Trying to figure out her path in life Aurora has worked in restaurants, was a CNA, attempted being an Ultrasound tech, attended a community college on and off for 4 years (ended up with an Associates in Communications), worked for Disney, etc. When the pandemic hit, she started to take an audit of her life and see if there was room for improvement. She came to the conclusion that almost every area of her life needed improvement. She was not who/where she wanted to be in life. She was not the mother she felt her boys deserved. She was not pursuing the career she wanted for herself. She was not the person she knew she had to become for everything to fall into place. She started to do her own personal development so that she could become the person who finally invented Laundry Buddy. Aurora's journey has not been easy and it will continue to be uncomfortable. True growth in any aspect of life will never be an easy task. She is proud of how far she has come and excited for how much more work she will accomplish as she continues to move forward. She knows that your brain is your super power and to use it!
