25m · Connected by Community · 09 Aug 10:00

Did you know that there are over 1,000 homeowners in the upstate who are living in unsafe, subpar housing? Jake Beaty, CEO of Rebuild Upstate joins us today to tell us about how we can get involved to help low-income homeowners in our community with home preservation. Rebuild Upstate is a 16-year-old organization made in response to Hurricane Katrina when they realized that people in their own backyards in the Upstate also needed help to live in their homes. Rebuild Upstate currently serves Greenville, Anderson, Pickens and Oconee, serving vulnerable populations such as veterans, older adults, people with disabilities, and families with children. Rebuild Upstate has repaired over 14,000 homes, focusing solely on home preservation and repairs as means to keep residents in their own homes. Tune in to learn more about how you can volunteer to help your neighbors, and details on how impactful this nonprofit it. Rebuild Upstate Rebuildupstate.org 864-643-5711
