The Grass Isn't Always Greener - Water Your Own Grass

18m · Build Your Alpha · 06 May 08:00

This week's episode talks about how we need to stop "Keeping Up With the Jones" because we think others have such a better situation than we do. How we need to focus on keeping things in perspective and enjoying the fact that our situation is possibly the best situation for us and who we are. That we don't know other's situations or sacrifices to get what they have now, and that we had to sacrifice things ourselves in order to get where we are. The "grass isn't always greener on the other side, the grass is greener where YOU water it".

Be Open To Receive & To Give

This week's episode of Build Your Alpha talks about how we all are told to live a fulfilling life that we have to give to others and bring them up with us. I feel that there is a negative perception around receiving from others though. However, if we allow ourselves to receive, not to take, opportunities when they are presented to us we have the ability to become the best we can be.

Boundaries - Set 'em & Stick to 'em

This week's episode of Build Your Alpha talks about the importance of not overextending yourself. That by saying yes to everything and not allowing yourself to say no to certain commitments that you're not able to be the best you can be, and therefore cannot give the best of yourself to those people and things that are most important to you. If our "cup is overflowing" then we will get to a point that we cannot give anymore, we cannot give what we don't have.

Find Your Tribe

This week's episode of Build Your Alpha talks about finding your tribe and how those closest to you can help you become the best version of yourself. It can take one person to change the world, but it takes a community to help that one man. As we go through life our priorities change and that means that at times our tribe will change, people will come and go throughout our lives. It's about keeping those that are the most positive in our lives around and building those relationships.
